Posted - Jan 14 2009 : 08:24:51 AM It has been arctic feeling here in Iowa all week. Yesterday we had a high of about zero with windchilld 20 to 30 below zero. Today is much the same and tonight the "high" will be about 25 below with windchills of around 45 below zero. Much the same the next two days and then we may warm up to 18 degrees on Saturday which sounds WONDERFUL right now! We have also been pounded with snow and ice recently and then the winds seem to always be blowing so it has basically been a nightmare here recently. It is almost like an exact repeat of last winter which held records for snowfall. And then Iowa had the huge floods in spring, which hopefully doesn't happen again. Sigh...I wish I was in the south right now. Florida sounds wonderful! -Elizabeth |

Posted - Jan 14 2009 : 09:34:48 AM We are having unseasonal WARM weather right now...it's supposed to get to 77 today (again!). I will sit in the sun, absorb some rays, and mentally send them up your way!
On the down side, it simply tricks the plants into early blooms, then when it gets wet and cold again, they'll not bloom again. HATE that!
