My uncle lives in Olympia, and he said this has been the worst winter since the 60s and that it reminds him more of Iowa winters.

Teresa Sue! How can you get enough sun on enough skin in this cold? Only my nose peeks out, and that only when my scarf mashes down too much. I feel like the Michelin man under all my layers. :)

Hmmm, I'll have to see if I can come by with a care package for you Grace before school starts up again.... good to know the name of a good human-grow light. I'll have to see if I can find some of those Reveal light bulbs to keep up a sunny disposition. :)

I am so very over this "shoveling"....snow-bah humbug!
The sun peeked out for a few minutes today, I plastered myself up against the window like a "Colorform" and did not budge till the sun went behind the clouds....ok, back to my "GrowLite"... lol!

ok, don't laugh, yesterday when I went to turn on the "grow lite" for my plants I found myself aiming the lamp toward my face....now I seem to be sprouting & have white fly!! lol!
I am actually starting back at the Gym on Monday (work off some energy)and they installed 2 new tanning/sun vita-D beds and I will be using those too! I am one of those people who needs to be out in daylight a lot!
Michelle, I was actually looking at the airfares last night,,,,haha! but until I come up with $300 I think I will just go make myself a Pear Martini.(my version of fruit consumption!)...right about now some of your huckleberry wine and chocolates would make the Winter snows more bearable! hahaha!
The local Wal-mart in our little community had to be cloesd due to roof issues,,,,there have been a few roofs collapsing in Spokane due to the snow.
But I won't complain to much(maybe)as it could be worse,,,,I have my "life lines" (girlfriends) here in Spokane that let me whine & snivel about the weather and then we laugh & plan future play dates and I am once again ok...
Sending you all warm hugz,
me,the cranky snow princess! lol!

Grace - our winter has definitely NOT been normal - especially for your guys! We had 19 inches of snow and I thought that was bad until I ready what Spokane is getting. YIKES! Hang in there dear, it will get better.

Big hug. Dear, you need some sunlight therapy. I should have taken you with me to San Diego. No kidding, DH said I'm so much happier he's thinking of getting a strong sun lamp for me to get through the winters up here. An hour of reading and relaxing in the "sun" (maybe a bucket of sand for my feet and a fruity umbrella'd drink now and then). Winter blues sneak up on you. Some folks are just more effected by the weird northwest winters/lack of strong light/crazy weather.

I had no idea how much it was getting to me until suddenly I felt like my old self again, basking in some sunshine, smiling at everyone and not worrying. Look for a weekend getaway special airfare to someplace sunny and warm...it will do you a world of good, and a weekend from the fur babies, do you think someone could take care of them for just that long?

Who knows what normal weather is anyway? Anyone who tells you they do know is selling you something. :) Hang in there, another season is coming...mud. :) We do get all 4 here: snow, mud, green, harvest.

:)

Normal? Normal?? Normal?????
I give up! I think the people up here are either brain damaged(frozen from to much snow) or are liers!!! just kiddin'...
I can not seem to get any two people to agree about the weather up here.... (this is my 2nd Winter) Some say this is normal, some say it is not, some say be prepared for the probability of an Ice Storm next year(I am so outta of here if that is true) and yesterday the box boy who was helping me load my car said that if I study Spokane history, I'd see that Spokane is turning around & getting back to the kind of weather that is normal for here, that these past 80+ years has actually not been the norm,,,warmer then it should be. AACCKK!
Some of the locals (both life long and transplants)tell me that the weather up here is in a 10 cycle, 2-3 bad years in a row then 7-8 decent tolerable Winters....Now I don't know to be hopefull or depressed!
Oh wait, maybe I will just go into town & get some "Retail Therapy" to get me through all this snow! lol!
Ok, I am over my rantings, I really don't mind it, just hate being house bound,,,I love being outside playing in my garden and tooling around on the property and traveling with my girlfriends (Sisters on the Fly) on our camping trips w/our little trailers. So when I get couped up it's a little tuff....even w/a sewing room full of goodies, I still need the sun light.
As for my horrible comment about the folks up here being Brain Damaged, they really aren't, I have met the most wonderful people up here. I am the one that is brain damaged, probablly from lack of a Starbucks fix... lol!
