Posted - Dec 18 2008 : 12:58:20 PM We lost power in the ice storm on 12/13 and still are without it now, 7 days later...we got 2 inches of snow yesterday and there is a snowstorm on its way for the weekend. Usually I *love* snowstorms but they are not so much fun without heat in the house....any other New Englanders out there?

Posted - Dec 22 2008 : 07:24:48 AM Hey Jennifer!
I'm also from New Hampshire. I was one of the lucky ones though, we did not loose our power in the ice storm. My grandfather, however, just got his power back two nights ago. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for spring. LOL
I hope you made it through the snowstorms OK.

Posted - Dec 21 2008 : 8:15:34 PM We have had snow and ice storms here in the Chicago area and today it is -30 with the wind chills. So far, knock on wood, our power hasn't gone out. My parents lost theirs for a few hours, but they have a house generator so they stayed warm. My brother lost his power too, so he stoked up the fire in his fireplace & it helped a bit until the lines were fixed. I hope everyone's power is working now & that all of you are warm and snug!

Posted - Dec 18 2008 : 9:43:52 PM I have been seeing reports of your situation on the news and I say a little prayer for you all when I see them. We had a big ice storm a few years back and were without power for more than a week - right at Thanksgiving. We cooked our celebration dinner on the Bar-b-que and cooked the mashed potatoes on the Kerosene heater and washed the dishes with boiled snow water when we were done!! I hope they get your power back really soon. I don't love snow so much right now myself. |
