Posted - Dec 11 2008 : 06:12:00 AM OMG, we are flooding here. It has rained all night and is still raining! It rained all night the night before, too. I may need a boat to get out of here.
And later the weather man says it could start getting really cold and turn to snow! OOOHHHH, I'm not likin' this at all. My poor critters aren't, either.
Is it raining all over Ga?

Posted - Dec 20 2008 : 9:50:54 PM OMG!!!!! Will it never end??!! It's pouring again! And very heavy, too. I'm afraid we're just going to float away, down the road to Chattanooga and parts beyond. But I want to stay here. I am miserable. My house even feels wet. Everything is wet. I'm tired of going outside and getting wet. My animals are soaked. I have to trudge through mud everywhere I go here.
I know I will be SO grateful in the spring and summer for all this much needed rain. I know I will. But why all at once?
Ok, it feels so good to vent and get it all out. This reminds me of when we first moved here. It rained for months straight. The chickens thought they were ducks. Their house was always flooded. There were lakes and ponds on our property and we just have 3 acres. Maybe that's what's wrong, I'm having flashbacks.
At least it's not freezing and snowing.

Posted - Dec 14 2008 : 9:42:14 PM All our snow melted today- it was 50 degrees out. It's dropped probably 40 degrees since. The rain turned to freezing rain, to sleet, and now to snow.

Posted - Dec 11 2008 : 4:58:35 PM Thanks Belle! It sure is a mess here. I think we're about the same here, Karin. Lakes in the front yard and creeks running over. Mud everywhere.
The weatherman said tonight that we have gotten up to 4 1/2 inches in just a few days. This really is good b/c we have been in drought mode for a few years now. They say we need at least 13 more inches to fill up all the lakes and ponds here in Ga. I think we might just make it!
We will probably get some snow now. My hubby sent me a picture of the snowy roads he was driving on in Kansas yesterday. It's not even winter yet!

Posted - Dec 11 2008 : 11:44:35 AM We have had lots of rain, my farm pond, which is dammed, is overflowing, the road is getting ready to crumble again, it rains, it pours, it snows, I find it quite exhausting. I had to rent a car this week because I smashed up mine and it is terrible on snowy roads, so I'm creeping around in it, trying to get ready for some holiday fun.
I will be glad when we have some snow that sticks. It is good for the garden and brightens up the brown landscape...hope you keep well and warm!
