How's the weather there? I'll be going to Vancouver the end of this month. Never been there and was wondering what the weather is like this time of the year. What kind of clothes should I bring for this area? I need to go shopping!!! Yeah!

Any advice would be a great help. Thanks.

Kris

Hey Kay, we did have good weather. Just a few drizzles here and there. The trees were so pretty and so yellow. The only color I saw was yellow. Do they get to be any other colors there?

Kris - I'm glad that you had a good trip and made it home safe and sound. I wish I could have met you too but know that family gatherings are most important. Hopefully you had some good weather while you were here! It's been raining for the last 4 days!

I'm back! I saw nothing but the motel, some restaraunts and the Portland airport. It seems like that's all we did there. My cousins from all over were there that I had not seen in almost 10 years, so we had lots of catching up to do. We ate and talked, a lot.

I really wanted to go sight seeing, being that I'll probably not get back out there in a long time again. And I wanted to meet Kay from Van. But there was not much time. Sorry. I'm sure it is a beautiful place.

But there is nothing more beautiful than what I'm seeing here today! The sky was blue all day, the trees are just now bursting forth with the most spectacular colors I've ever seen, and it's just wonderful to be HOME!

We're already planning our reunion for next summer in Col. Sprs. I thought we should just have it here in Ga. but probably not.

Up here in the NE corner of WA, it is cloudy today, the leaves have all fallen off the trees, we have had freezing nights for the past 2 weeks, no snow yet, but, usually it is here now...

I don't know where the Inn of Vancouver is but I could find it easily. I'll email you my cell number. Give me a call when you'd like to get together!!

I with I had a B & B - that would be so much fun.

I thought you were going to Vancouver, BC!!! Too funny...I know there's a Vancouver, WA but wasn't putting 2 and 2 together. It takes me a while, laffin!

I think layers would be a great idea too...yesterday was downright cold and I couldn't shake it...the wind makes everything cooler of course.

I'm on the other side of the state, but I hope you have a good time and "hello!" Sounds like you will be fine in layers. Sorry your uncle passed. Fall is beautiful and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Hello, Kay. I don't know why I thought you had a B&B. I guess it's the rustic cottage part of your name.

Me and my sister will be flying to Portland the 31st. Don't know exactly when we get there. Then renting a car to go to vancouver for our uncle's memorial service on Sat. at 3:00. We'll be there til Sun. afternoon.

We will be staying at the Inn of Vancouver on 3rd. St. I'd love to meet some of you Wash. farmgirls while I'm there. That would be fun.

Thanks Angie, for the advice. I do like to dress in layers. That way most of it can come off as the day goes by.

Can't wait to get there. I bet it's beautiful this time of year.

Hi Kris! I got your email. I don't have a B & B but sure could look for one for you. Just let me know. I do know one in Portland that is over in the Lloyd Center District. The two gentlemen that own it bought a hutch from me and are the nicest people. Their B & B is in an old Victorian house that they've completely restored. Any chance we could meet somewhere?? Plan on rain but it could be nice. We usually have some nice weather until right around Halloween. WA is beautiful this time of year. It's been about 40 at night and mid-50's during the day. If you want to go shopping downtown Portland is a great place - it is so cool. Saturday Market is wonderful too if you will be here on a Saturday.

Well, coming from Ga.... I would say bring layers, lots of layers. We've been getting feezing nights, warm days, cold rain, a little wind.... I am cold and I live here! And remember... it's wet, so that's a different kind of cold all in itself. Have fun on your trip!

What are you doing with your dash?
kristin sherrill Posted - Oct 20 2008 : 06:48:52 AM
Thanks. I am hot natured now, so love it cool but not freezing. So this will be nice. Don't like wet and cold, though. So I need to find some good jeans and a good pair of shoes and sweaters.

Thanks, ya'll.

It's the jeans and a sweatshirt time of year for me if that tells you anything about how cold it is by that description. It's pretty nice during the day if not raining (60's) right now but not sure what the end of the month will bring. In the 20's at night here but Vancouver is warmer I think.

Plan on rain! If you're lucky you'll get a day or two of sunshine, but you really can't count on it this time of year. But it'll probably rain.
