Posted - Sep 13 2008 : 09:27:29 AM I have a dear, very dear friend living in that area code in Houston, TX. I tried to call her just a few minutes ago but got no answer. I am worried sick, don't know how she is, how that area was affected etc. Any update on that area specific, anyone??
I have posted on the regular IKE thread as well, but thought to start a new topic. Praying for all other peeps in the affected are too, ofcourse, but since having a friend in this area code.....
ANYONE??

Posted - Sep 13 2008 : 10:27:48 AM MArian if her power is out and she only has a cordless phone it will just ring and ring. It is quite possible that phone lines are down too. They are reporting that approximatly 1.8 million customers (4.5 million individual people) are without power in Houston and surrounding area. The storm was downgraded to a CAT-1 by the time it hit houston so most of the dammage in that area is minor wind damage and poweroutages. I know it can be scarey though! I also heard that they had requested that people limit phone use to emergancy use only until after the storms pass through.
