She's coming up the eastern seaboard and heading out way. Tomorrow is supposed to be very wet with 40 - 50 mph winds.

Praying that all my farmgirls friends stay safe in the wake of all these hurricanes.

Ike is now a catagory 3, so hopefully he will keep dying down before he hits Florida. *Kepping my fingers crossed*.

Stay safe and dry!

There is immeasurable value in what I do. I won't ever believe otherwise.

We didn't lose power but lost internet and cable for a few hours. That's no big deal. Lots of wind and branches and pine cones clutter the yard, the boys have their work cut out for them tomorrow.
Hubby got up early Saturday morning to sit on the porch and watch the wind. We got up and sat out there with him, I made coffee for us. It was nice. Just sitting quietly, listening to the wind, watching branches fall. Then we took a LONG nap and had a lazy afternoon. Perfection!

Wow hannah sure left us lots of rain here in southern NJ. Lots of limbs down and we had no power from about 1pm yesterday to 3am this morning. Everyone was hitting the restaurants a liitle further away for supper last night. I don't know which was worse not being able to cook or having to drive in it to get somewhere to eat....lol.
We fared pretty well and we really needed the rain.

Hannah is over N.C. right now, but we are getting really heavy rains and some wind from her already. Supposed to last until late tonight in the Mid Atlantic states. We battened down the hatches last night, picked up anything in the yard that could fly around and now we are hoping that everyone stays safe and that hannah we pass with minimal damage to everyone. Thanks for all thewell wishes from everyone and say a little prayer for your eastern farmgirls!

LOL!! Paige! I can't imagine anybody getting excited about a storm. It reminds me of the folks in New Orleans with their hurricane parties. Happy Birthday to your hubby.

We just covered up the chicken house, usually during dry days they have a screen roof. Later on if the yard starts to fill up w/ water we'll move the girls into a portable coop, putting them on the deck with a solid roof.
I've got two 5 gallon collapsible tanks filled w/ water and the tub is filled w/ water for flushing. I made a pot of coffee (even cold coffee is better than none!) and am topping off the oil lamps now. I'll turn the water heater ON so it can heat up NOW while we've got power, and later if we lose it the tank still gives us lots of hot water, enough for two showers and few loads of handwashed dishes.
I'm contimplating making bread, but I'm leaning towards cookies. I've got biscuits, tortilla's and 2/3 a loaf of bread already. Cookies would be more fun...Todays hubbies 41st birthday and he's so excited to be getting a storm. He says God really does love him after all.

How is everyone doing today? Hopefully the roof tops hold and there are no leaks!
