Posted - Jan 03 2008 : 07:46:36 AM Have you ever seen a morning where, as the sun rises, it paints everything pink? Right now the sky is dark blue and I am looking out the window. The rising sun has painted a pink wash all over the tree and buildings I can see from the window. When I look at the snow, the highlights are pink and the lowlights (depressions) are blue. So as I look out on the snowy palouse fields, they are a wash of blues and pinks, as is the sky with the exception of the bright yellow-orangey sun just peaking above the hills.
And unfortunately it is such a fleeting beauty. As I wrote this post the sun has risen and the true colors of the world are being revealed. But I know that the first light of day was a sweetheart's kiss of the sun to the world.
