Posted - Dec 09 2007 : 6:32:54 PM When we drove home tonight the highways were horrible. I saw a couple disabled vehicles and one highway patrol with flares set up for a car that had spun off the highway. So if you are driving tonight, drive slow and steady! The ice is forming!

Posted - Dec 11 2007 : 7:58:02 PM Firemamma/Amanda, it really was a wonderful weekend. The owner of the hotsprings commented how good of a baby Nora is. I got to hold her and it warmed my heart even more than the great warm waters. What a family Alee has! If you get the chance to go meet with Alee this coming weekend, I'd recommend it. It was a long drive, but the roads were good (getting there, coming back the storm made us slow down too). The scenery, wildlife, water, and having a resort-in-the-making to ourselves was a real treat. Alee pointed out the wolf tracks. We also saw deer, turkey, elk. Parts along the rivers still look like fall with all the lush mosses and ferns. Very pretty.
Nothing like the holidays with good friends, family, a cozy cabin in the woods, a friendly lodgekeeper, and lovely warm water to sooth away holiday stress. I just wish I'd have brought a cake for Alee's birthday! Well worth the drive.
We make a difference. |

It was wonderful! I got to hang out with HuckleberryWine and her wonderful family. Nora loved swimming and even practiced holding her breath a couple of times (she did great!). The cabins were fun, the water sparkling clean and warm. Oh so wonderfully warm!! We sat outside as a few snowflakes fell last night. It was perfect. I am really looking forward to possibly going back next weekend. Oh yes, and I saw wolf tracks along side the road. I even got out and put my hand in them. So cool!
And the mountain roads were wonderful. No scary parts at all! The only scary part tonight was the freak snowstorm that hit from Lewiston to Moscow and I didn't have any trouble in it- only other people who weren't respecting the weather.
Really when you get down to it, if you respect the weather, driving isn't too bad.
