Moscow has a heavy snow warning from 4 pm through Tuesday. Drive safe everyone and enjoy the snow! Keep an eye out for elderly neighbors. Make sure outside animals have shelter.
We don't have side walks out where I live, but do be careful on icy walks...hopefully I can get my sweetie to go for a walk with me and the puppy dogs this evening

Can you tell I love snow?

Up here in the Forgotten Corner we got 10 inches of snow then it started to rain and rain and rain. Jim plowed out the driveway and in the pouring rain. It's still raining! What wacky weather

Annika-

Isn't that the truth! As I was driving to work today a 50ft section of the road was flooded. I was thinking "please dry before the next freeze!" As it is on a corner with field ditches on either side. Luckily they aren't deep enough to cause a horrible wreck, but probably deep and steep enough to need a tow out of them and maybe even break an axle.

Everyone drive safe. Getting there slower is better than not getting there at all!

The last report I saw said it would be back to snowing by Wednesday...Dear God, everyone drive safe. If this muck freezes it will be nasty We need a good snow floor. Yucky sleet and rain out here. Gonna curl up with some writing materials and nurse my head cold. I HOPE that we can keep the snow coming though, I'm looking forward to more of it

Oh yes, and I forgot to mention that the power kicked off for about half an hour which made me realized how un prepared for winter power outages we are. So I am cleaning so I won't kill my self trying to get around my house in the pitch black and am planning on picking up a lantern and lantern oil when I have to go pick up my husband from work. This is probably only the second Idaho snow storm that has knocked out power for us in the 6 years that we have been here! :D

Woo Hoo!

It's snowing, snowing, snowing here! It was practically blizzarding when I got done with Sunday brunch with some friends around 2:30pm. I think we might have gotten somewhere between 2-3 inches in just a few hours! Winter is here! Yay!!

Hey Alee,
I can do that, but I'll have to post it on my blog 'cause I can't figure out how to post pictures here...
I just walk outside my front door look to the left & snap away...
But first I have to bundle up real warm,,,hahaha!
Actually the winds blew away alot of our snow so we don't have to shovel the drive way today, DH is happy!
But now I am off to go play,,,,I found yet another apron pattren called a "Fat Quarter Apron", really cute & it's made from fat quarters. So, got my pattern, got my fabric, got my hot tea & now I am off to sew!!!

Grace-

I bet that must be interesting to see those huge weather balloons going up everyday! Can you take and post a picture of it for us? I have never seen weather ballons in person before. :D

Hey Alee,
Guess what??? the National Weather Service (building) is across the road about 1/10 of a mile from my house, I watch them set off the weather balloons around 4pm each day, except for today, they set them off at 3pm.
My thoughts on the weather are:
If it's white it's snowing
If it's wet, it's raining
If it's blowing, it's windy
and if it's hot, I'm in my garden!!! lol!

How fun for it to feel like Christmas at Christmas!!! I've lived in Cali all my life and somehow 70 degrees does not look like Currier and Ives!!!!

Oh Ladies, I can relate.
Our weather geeks are wringing their hands in anticipation of our "major" snow storm due here in Minnesota on Saturday. (the sky is falling, the sky is falling....)
If history repeats itself, we won't get a flake at all until after Christmas, like the past few years.
Personally, I hate snow-I have to shovel it-I don't own a snowblower. However, on the plus side, I do get fresh air and exercise. AND it does separate the men from the boys, and keeps the riff-raff out. LOL
My fur baby, Angus, LOVES snow. I have to drag him in shivering, but protesting vehemently.

Annika-

They are lying to us. If this is what the weather people call heavy snow- then I think we need to send them somewhere where it actually snows a lot! :D I can't believe that the promised snow still hasn't mounted up much. And what did fall today- is melting!!

Thanks for the beautiful photos! Snow always looks so lovely in photos. But I hope we don't get a lot here in Kentucky this winter. I'd like to just enjoy it in pictures this year! LOL!

We already had one snow day, a week ago on Nov. 22. Actually, part of them doesn't want one, because tomorrow is a "civies" day at the high school, (they wear uniforms there) and the kids don't want to miss their day when they get to wear "regular" clothes! I'm sure there would be enough outcry the school would reschedule it!

We usually get at least 5 snow days here in a school year. It is most stressful when it happens during January exams (so much confusion!)

The worst one happened last year, when the buses picked up all the kids as usual in the morning, then around 2 p.m. they decided to cancel the afternoon buses, leaving kids stranded in far-away towns in bad weather, forcing hundreds of parents to venture out in bad weather or make some kind of arrangements on the fly. There was a lot of bad press over that one...

Ah, winter in Canada!

Our school here (the elementary is within walking distance) hasn't had a snow day in 5 years...the kids would LOVE that..just to be able to say they had one..haha.

It's very windy and we're getting squalls on and off here today. It's lake effect snow--when the winds get up and pass the open water of the Great Lakes they pick up moisture, then dump it on the land to the south and east. We're supposed to get 10-20 cm (4 to 8 inches) today and overnight. Kids are hoping for a snow day tomorrow!

WE are supposed to get snow here tomorrow..and flurries all weekend..I wonder if it is your same storm but headed down this way. We got just a dusting a few days ago..it is just freakin cold right now..I would rather have snow if it is this cold!!!
It is so much prettier than all the brown dead stuff!!

Thanks for the pictures girls. They were beautiful and Annika's was very cool. Keep um coming. We, of course, are having wind, wind and more wind to go along with high temps - 79 today. No matter what people say, hot weather does not instill the holiday spirit.

Thanks again and stay safe in your storms.
