Just a thought. While we, who are having an extended "Indian Summer", are having it, try to get out and go for autumn walks. In north Idaho, it is really beautiful. Nippy this morning but still really pretty. I'm never sure what the weather is going to do, but luckily I don't melt if it decides to precipitate on me. We went to Idlers Rest last weekend and are considering going and visiting the cedars on Moscow Mountain this weekend. I have a cool little digital camera, that I'm still trying to learn how to use (Tech stupid here) but Drew and I have been trying to get photos of some of our walks/hikes. It's a beautiful year in many places. Being a farm girl means that you are part of the seasons and that you and the earth have a special bond. Even if your area has had bad weather or other bad luck, reconnecting yourself with nature will make you feel better.

I'm just being a little good health fairy and encouraging everyone to go enjoy the fall beauty while we have it, we can sew, craft and such during the cold, wet yucky part of the year. So... go take a walk, kick some leaves, breath in the autumn scents and feel good!

I'll take off my nature girl crown and get off the soap box now.

Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart

Annika

This is my favorite time of year to get out and walk. My husband and I like to go geocaching and walking during the cooler months when the heat, humidity, insects, and poison ivy and such are not so bad. We had a nice time out last Sunday going into some of Lexington's city parks, there's some woodland areas there as well. The sun was shining, but it was a bit chilly and we walked the paths kicking the leaves up as we went along. Just a perfect fall day to me.

Oh, Dawn, you are a lucky girl to be walking each week at the Morton Arboretum. Such beautiful trees! I'm up near the Chicago Botanic Garden and don't get there as often as I should. You've inspired me -- I think I'll go today!

My husband takes Thursdays off from work and we go to Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL for the day. We have a glorious time hiking along the paths. I pack up a picnic lunch & we've been able to sit outside and enjoy our meal without any bees around! We've taken tons of pictures that amazingly do show how beautiful it is there. I also walk for an hour every day by my house. Our area is wooded with rolling hills, so autumn really shows off nicely for us. The weather has been so warm that the season is really lasting a lot longer then usual. Giving me lots of excuses to stay outside!

Annika, we are having the same type of weather here. Frosty morns and beautiful days, although as I write this it is gloomy and overcast. Well, turn around and the weather changes. I love the snappy cold, crisp and sunny days and try to spend as much time as I can outside. 'Tis good for body and soul. You can stay on that soap-box as long as you want. MB
