Today it's going to be 74, yesterday it was 81. At least it's raining--haven't had a drop of rain in more than 2 months! I had hoped that this weekend (our autumn "ramble" is scheduled) would be sweater weather, but it's going to be 75 and sunny.
Poo!

After a 80 degree weekend, autumn has finally arrived in the Chicagoland area. The trees are finally showing off their fine colors & the leaves are just tumbling down. Today is close to 60 with a chilly breeze & clouds. Suppose to be like that for the next 10 days. We still haven't had a frost yet. This may be the first October where we didn't have to turn the heat on! Hooray!

Here in NJ, it's been too warm....yesterday was in the 80's and other days have been in the 70's. Also, not too much rain, although, one day last week, we finally had a good amount of rain. I, myself, really don't like this. I look forward to the cool, crisp temperatures and putting on sweaters and jackets. lol I shouldn't complain, other parts of the country are really having problems....Georgia and Florida being almost tapped out in drinking water! For those farmgirls in those areas, I hope you're surviving this ok, and I really hope you get some relief soon!

Well, the autumn ramble did go on, despite that we were in short sleeves....it was GORGEOUS here, I must admit.

Leaf Report:
Northern Kenton County, not so much--still green (and brown)
Gallatin, Southern Boone and Carroll Counties, gorgeous leaves. Just gorgeous. Don't believe they've had any more rain than we have, but everything seemed so much more lush and vibrant out in the rural areas.

Here in Middle TN we are having some nice cool mornings and evenings (pretty typical). I am just sad that the leaves are turning brown and falling off (just like Jc said). Nothing spectacular at all. We have had no rain in months either and are actually under sever drought conditions. YUCK

We had a little rain the other day -- but we are under a burning ban and even the river is drying up here in Krypton, Ky. All it would take is one small fire out of control to wipe out 1/2 of our little community. Our leaves are not really changing colors -- they just went brown and are falling off the trees.

I'm in north Idaho, and I was running around all day yesterday in a t-shirt with the windows to the house open
At least it rained a bit last night, but the weather is being really really odd all over.

Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart

I hear ya Jonni. At least it's not in the 90s. We got a little bit of rain this morning too, hopefully we'll get some more in the next few days. This summer really got to me I have to admit, I just don't like hot weather. I love fall, it's my favorite time of year. I can't wait until sweater weather either. Each morning I look in my closet and wish it would be cool enough to wear one. How is the foliage in your area? I would like to go leaf peeping this weekend. Down here there's some change but a lot of it has to do with the drought. Some trees have already lost their leaves.
