Ok, enough Summer already! Today is another humid, hot day and it's only 9:40am! I know it's only Sept, but I have had enough flies, mosquitos, and other critters to last a lifetime this year. Maybe if I do a "Come on Fall" dance or something?? Getting desperate for cooler weather now..... Ughhhh

Cold and rainy here. I think I have webbed feet. Alls it seems to do here is rain the last few weeks. The mosquitoes are as big as jets and waiting to carry you off when you step outside. But I am sad to see the trees changing and the leaves dropping to the ground. Before you know it the snow will be piling up and the dog days of summer will just be another passing memory of 2007. Oh for 70's and sun.

It was very hot and humid in Kentucky over the weekend again. But at least we got RAIN at the farm(between one and one and a half inches). It didn't cool down afterward, though. Just got muggier.

If you figure out the dance let us know Tammy because it has turned hot and humid here again. We got a couple of teaser days and that's all. I want to get out my fall decorations but it's hard to think fall when it's so HOT.

Today is supposed to be a high of 90 and humid - BLECH! I'm soooooo ready for fall. We are in the process of painting our kitchen cabinets, and the paint just won't dry because it's so darn humid. And it's funny - I was just talking to my best friend about how bad the mosquitos are this year! Last weekend I was standing outside (in the middle of the afternoon, and it was hot!) painting cabinet doors, and I noticed a couple of mosquitos, and the next day my legs and feet were driving me nuts from all the itching! Apparently the mosquitos didn't mind the heat!

It was in the 80's here today, but there was a definite breeze blowing, supposed to rain maybe this weekend.

The leaves were falling out of the wild cherry tree in the backyard. It is usually the first to show signs of autumn.

I'm trying to be patient.....today is another low 90's day. :( I can't wait to pull out my favorite sweatjacket and sit on the porch with a hot cup of coffee and watch the kids play without complaining that it's too hot. Oh well, hopefully soon we will all get a break from the heat. Still trying to figure out that "Come on Fall" dance though...hmmmmm

Just when I thought Fall was here to in central Pa...it got hot and humid again too....:( I can't stand the heat, never have-never will. I lived in Virginia before moving here 3 months ago, and can understand your frustration with the heat and humidity in MD.....it would be late Oct./early Nov. before the leaves started to turn and the weather got cooler...so disappointing for me because I love fall! But, it will come...."good things come to those who wait"...that just came to me for some reason:) Wishing cool thoughts to all of you...Warmly, Erica

HAHAHA - I have had 28 years of summer, being from Florida myself. I'm so ready for cooler weather it's driving me crazy!

I'll second your opinion on the mosquitos! We had a flood here a few weeks ago and the mosquitos are running rampant!

It is finally raining here! We were in a drought and they had warned against using too much water or starting an outside fire. But this morning we are finally getting the rain we need. Thank you God.

May God bless those who love the soil,

Patsy

It's the same here in Louisville, KY today, Tammy. Temps in the mid to upper nineties again this week(seasonal norms are low to mid eighties). And STILL NO RAIN! This is the first time I've welcomed the end of summer!
