Posted - Apr 18 2007 : 8:21:03 PM Hello All! I am another new face from Washington State. I was lucky enough to attend Mary Jane's Farm Fest last year and was looking forward to this year. Ah! will have to wait until next. I finally have enough time to join you and enjoy all of your sharing.
I'm lucky enough to actually live on a farm. I wasn't raised on one but our farm has been in my husband's family for three generations so I've got some strong family history to follow. I grew up in corn and soybean country but lived in the city. I didn't know how much I missed the open country, the quiet, and getting your hands dirty until I married and moved to the farm. Now we have animals, gardens, and grandchildren. Lots of open country and dirty hands, but not so much quiet.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Posted - May 22 2007 : 05:01:41 AM Hey Cheryl - Welcome to you! I love the NW...my oldest son lived in the Tacoma/Seatle area for awhile and I have been to Portland many times. I have considered moving out that way....some of the land on the way up the MTs is just gorgeous and so much cheaper then the East coast. What a beautiful country we have!
So many interests so little time! |

Posted - Apr 19 2007 : 4:19:02 PM Hi neighbor! Hope you enjoy chatting here. There are some other MJ get-togethers going on this year, like the nature hike in June, and a big something in Oakesdale in July...my memory is terrible... Anyway, glad to have you join us. :)

Thanks for the invite. Question - Where exactly is Bonney Lake? I thought I knew Washington pretty well, but there is always another town to find.

Posted - Apr 19 2007 : 09:51:29 AM Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. I've enjoyed reading the forums so much. It is nice to participate.
Spring on the farm is such fun, even though this year has been sooo cold. We have all of our baby calves arriving. Such fun to see them running around together. I can't wait to get my garden going this year, but like Princess Mater's article, I think I will wait til the "old-timers" start to plant.
Looking forward to getting to know you all.
