Hello all. I originally joined last year, but have been too busy to post but once, and that wasn't even an intro! So...here I am. We moved to a small farm in Ohio this past Spring, and this year we're gearing up to actually make use of the place! I've plowed under a 60x30 patch of dirt which will hopefully grow some veggies, and I've got 15 chickens scheduled to show up tomorrow morning. I don't mind admitting to being scared spitless as, although I've always had a hankering to do this sort of thing, I've been raised in the 'burbs until now!! This is a big learning experience to everyone in the family...everyone being my now-retired-from-the-military hubby and our 6 of 7 kids (one spread her wings already). I'm really looking forward to getting to know all of you!!

Welcome Fiona....this is such a great place to share your experiences and get help with things that are new! Sounds like life is quite exciting at the moment. Congrats on the farm move. Have a great time with the chicks.....we just completed our first year with ours.....last year at this time they had hatched. Now we are enjoying fresh eggs and our girls keep us supplied with lots of laughs! This is such a great place to talk with like-minded gals who share your same interests....and eveyone is so friendly and supportive.....what a great group of friends.

Best of luck!!

Keep Smiling.....Bev
