Hi all! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and sharing and learning from your wisdom and giftedness. I am 44 married to a wonderful man for 25 years. We have 4 children ages 13, 17, 25, and 27, a wonderful son-in-law and 2 beautiful grandchildren ages 2 and 3 weeks. We live on a small homestead with our goats. Currently we are getting ready to move in our small cabin that sits in a beautiful meadow at the edge of the woods and beautiful creek. The cabin sits across the creek from our home where we will be building a foot bridge this spring/summer. Completely primitive, we'll be using a wood burning cook stove and oil lamps for light. In the loft we'll have a small feather ticking for slumber, but also a bed downstairs too. I'm not planning on climbing up to the loft to catch up on my sleep lol. It's a place to get away and read my bible, pray, and do primitive crafting such as soapmaking, candlemaking, knitting rugmaking, spinning ect. I'll be taking pictures soon I hope. We're waiting for the ground to dry up so we can do some moving. We've had lots of rain and a bit of snow that has kept us wet and muddy. Have a wonderful day friends. ~~Blessings, Mikki

Bonnie, yes I am a grandmother! My newest is only 3 weeks old. Her name is Calli Jo and her brother just turned 2 in January, his name is Owen. They are so sweet. My son-in-law thinks Calli Jo looks just like him but she looks like her mommy, lol. Thanks for the compliment, I just started my blog. I wrote the short story about my grandmother last year, so I thought I would put it on there.
~~Blessings, Mikki Jo

Thanks so much for the warm welcome everyone. The cabin is a dream come true for me. It's taken us a while to get where we are, but I'm so looking forward to getting moved in and all. Our Amish friends built our cabin and then we had it moved to our home. We had fun helping design it. I had the front door made with the old fashioned leather drawstring latch, it's the neatest thing. The back door has a white porcelain door knob with just a skeleton key lock. On the other door at night you just pull your drawstring in to lock it. I'll put pics on my blogspot soon. ~~Blessings, Mikki
