Y'all are so wonderful! It took a while to wander 'round all these forums and they're all full of fun, love and support. awesome.

After two decades in Alabama, I am almost nine years back north of the Mason-Dixon in northern Bucks County. It's quite rural here all around the 11 acres my husband and I share with two labs, two cats, deer, fox and the like. I love to sew, cook, garden (there's a reason why there's so many rock walls around here and ride my two horses. I'm really looking forward to getting to know all ya'll and learn soooooo much.

Hi Susan!

I'm in northern Bucks county, about 1 and 1/2 hours north of Philly. I am looking forward to touring your part of the state. The photos from there always look fabulous.

Any sign of the redtailed hawks yet? We were once lucky enough to see a kettle of them up your way!

we're about a mile north of VanSant as the crow flies. the tow planes pulled up a couple of gliders yesterday! pretty early for that, but fun to watch the gliders circling around. Spring is coming. the canada geese paired off yesterday.

I know the VanSant area well - i have tubed down the delaware a few times and watched some of the planes take off and land on the water.....

I know people think airport and large planes and its a grass field and no large planes...

I've been to VanSant airport several times! I used to have clients on that road many years ago. Nice countryside, but too much shale! I also got lyme disease working in that area. I think I know which B& B you mean and it was a shame. I miss Bucks and wish we still lived there. Do you live in a stone house? I spent my early years living in a mill in Newtown when Goodnoes was surrounded by cows! Talk about culture shock now!

Hey Becky,

I'm in Tinicum near the VanSant airport. (VanSant is a grass airstrip and is used by many, many glider enthusiasts in the good weather) Telling someone you live in the country and then add you're near an airport will get a raised eyebrow or two. hahahaha

Hey Bramble,
Great name. We live on top of the hill 3.5 miles from the river. Had to help evacuate a friends flock of sheep for the 3rd time in 1 and 1/2 years! It's really hard to do especially when the water is perking up from the ground. Those critters don't float all that well. She sold the place (an incredible B&B) to a New Yorker who ran the place into the ground in a year's time. We found a new home for the sheep and I adopted Pearl, the people shy cat who lived in the barn. No offense to your folks from NY. This guy gives all y'all a bad reputation.

Thanks to you all. Melanie, how do you know of this place? Tis true. up this way are some amazing spots, so old you forget what century you're in. There are five covered bridges within ten miles of home, and I have to use a dirt road to get to a paved road to head west! (the one-lane bridge on my road has been out for over 5 years but that's a tale for another day)
