Posted - Feb 23 2007 : 10:59:00 AM Hello! I found out about this site rather serendipiously through an old Country Home magazine that had an article about MaryJanes Farm. I went onto her website (which is a great site, with great photos that are gorgeous!) which led me to this forum. I live in New Jersey and while I don't live on a farm, I'm a country girl at heart! I like to garden (not always successfully, but I try), love antiques and a simpler, quieter way of life. I live in a townhouse, so I don't have any property for a large scale garden. I work with whatever little bit of land I have, mostly perennials and annuals. I like to feed the birds and watch the wildlife in my backyard. You'd be surprised how much wildlife you see now in NJ....deer, foxes, all kinds of birds, even black squirrels! I'll admit I'm not much of a cook and I don't sew, but it's interesting to read the other posts and blogs of other peoples' lives. I live in a country-like area with open land that is state "farm preserved" with local working organic farms. It seems to be a really nice life! Nice to meet you all! |

Posted - Mar 07 2007 : 06:57:13 AM Welcome Judy,
If it wasn't so cold outside, I would invite you to pull up a rocking chair and have a glass of iced tea. But since it is cold, I will just say hello and welcome.
May God bless those who love the soil,
Patsy

Posted - Feb 27 2007 : 05:32:15 AM HI Judy! We are neighbors, sort of! Glad to have more NJ farmgirls, I'm right on the border of Mercer/Burlington and grew up in Mercer Co. so I know it very well. We had friends who dairy farmed in Lawrenceville on one of those organic farms you mentioned! Small world huh? Nice to have you here, join in and tell us about your hobbies and life. We do have alot of fun here. You can see I've visited here for awhile now!
