I just stumbled upon this site from someone that quoted Mary Jane on their blog. I was immediately intrigued. I do not have a farm, but I am interested in organic eating, more simple and natural living. I also lurked around the blogs and found out I have some in common with some here. I am a wife and mother. I have 3 boys, hence the user name theonlygirl. I had all three unmedicated and breasfed them (currently b.f. the youngest (18 months). I have recently become a little overwhelmed with the way my life is moving (materialistic, electronic, etc.) I am searching for a way to get back to the basics and would love to meet women who feel the same or at least have similar things in common. I guess I should mention I am also a vegetarian, a mormon and live in Utah. I noticed there aren't any farm girl groups in Utah - is anyone looking to start one. I live in Northern Utah.

Welcome Christi from another "only girl". We have a lot in common. I have 3 boys as well (4 if you count my husband) and am always analyzing how much of the world I really want to let in. I had all of my kids unmedicated with a midwife and have loved making that decision. My youngest is 20 mo. old and self weaned at around 16 mo. *sigh* So, enjoy it while you can...they get big too fast, dont they?

Hi Christi,
Welcome. Many of us are not living on a farm right now, but we have that farmgirl attitude. Many of us are eschewing materialism, concentrating on what is important: family, love, caring, community. It doesn't really matter what religion a farmgirl is...just that you are a farmgirl, with a farmgirl heart. There are quite a few Utah girls here, and many LDS farmgirls here too! Welcome...tie on an apron, have fun, share your joys and your sorrows and live a farmgirl life!

Hi, there, Christi! Welcome from another Utah farmgirl - there are a few of us here! I'm in Central Utah, but I know that sunshine is close to the Provo/Orem area... I think you'll just love it here. Welcome!!!

XOXO, Libbie
