Hi and Welcome too George! Glad you are joining in with your knowledge. My Grandpa's name was George. It is a German name which means "farmer"!!

Welcome George,
We live in the city but our city allows up to four chickens (no roosters) and we are starting to read about this. There's quite a growing population of chicken owners in town. And you only need to go 5-10 blocks (and times even less) to run into chicken owners. I'll be asking you lots of questions.

Sounds like you're grandparents were wonderful people.

Enjoy,
kim

Hey (Farmboy at heart) George!
Thank you for going on this site and helping figure out how to work it. I knew eventually I would get it :) - but you helped speed up the process. Now there's no getting me off the site, thank goodness I ordered some healthy quick fix meals from MJ, otherwise the kids would starve. If anyone who is reading this is wondering - George is my good friend from Fillmore. He dreams of having a farm one day also. He grew up on Rancho Sespe here in Fillmore - home of Mr. Spalding ( the sports Spalding)The ranch was approx. 2000 acres the largest single owned ranch in California. George's grandparents raised him on this ranch. His grandmother was the head household cook and his grandfather was the headgardner and the local herbs man (healer)- many of the workers..etc. came by for his care and wisdom.
George is now co-owner and manager of our local gym and also owns a feed store. If you have any questions about chickens, he is the one to ask. I always tease him that he was hatched and raised by chickens.
Well that's enough-or else I'll be in really big trouble...
Lindy
