Posted - Feb 05 2007 : 1:04:12 PM Hi, I'm from northern British Columbia and have been reading the forums for a while now, but have never signed up to post anthing before.
My family has been wanting to move out of the city for the past 12 years or so and now is the time. We have recently purchased 4 acres and we are beginning to clear the property so that we can build a house this spring. I'm so looking forward to having a garden and chickens, though that will have to wait another year or so.
I'm currently at home, having just quit my job, and I love it! It's great having time to knit, bake and to finally have the time to cook proper meals. I have two kids ages 10 and 12, and they really like having mom at home.
I have big dreams for our acreage and can't wait to get there!

Thanks for joining us and congratulations! I would so love being able to quit work and stay home and just take care of baking, sewing, gardening and on and on. So glad to hear about your plans. One day, perhaps, I will get there too. Glad to meet you.

Welcome to the group How exciting about your new life. I look foreword to hearing more about it and just enjoy each day. I know it is hard not to make plans but sometimes we forget to enjoy the day we are in. Your kids will love it out there, my two boys sure did when I moved to our farm over 11 years ago. Good luck and welcome.

Posted - Feb 05 2007 : 2:00:21 PM Hello! From yet another neighbor to your south!
Where are you in northern BC? (Kinda sorta?) I've been around most of BC at one time or another. Such a beautiful province with such great people.
I'm a geography major and just have this yearning to know WHERE, at least in more general terms (i.e. near Smithers, near Fort St. John), folks are located.
Congratulations on your place! Karin |
