"Where have y'all been all my life?"
I received MaryJane's book for Christmas from my mom and can't put it down!

We live on our 1&1/4 acre of desert horse property, in the Phoenix metro area. We have a menagerie of animals, and 3 boys. I think I've managed to eak out a little farm here, with no help from the coyotes. And not much more help from my guys, this is more my dream. My little piece of "country heaven" in the city. (just wish you couldn't hear the traffic from here, lol)
Thanks to my mom's influence when I was growing up, I'm into all things organic. Thanks mom!
I got rid of our microwave last year, unplugged the dishwasher, and am still trying to pry the tv remote from my husband's hand. Wanting to return to a simpler way of life that seems almost forgotten, my friends like to tease me and call me "pioneer woman".
I would love to meet more women like myself.

I'm a farmgirl! I didn't know that's what I was called, but now I know I'm a part of something...a sisterhood of sorts.

Thanks so much ladies!
How funny to have my mom here too! Guess I won't be able to dish the dirt about her now. Haha
Only kidding, she's great!

Nance, I see you're in France? Wow! I didn't realize we have members all over the world!

I'm so amazed with the welcome I've received! Thank you everyone! Farmgirl is truly a condition of the heart like MaryJane says, and I feel such a connection with all of you. I'm getting misty eyed because I never had a sister, now I have...how many? hundreds? thousands?
I hope someday to ride the greyhound bus up to Idaho (my birthplace btw) and attend MaryJanesFarm Fun Fair. Wouldn't that be a hoot? Maybe I'll see some of you there!

Oh, and chickenlips is a nickname my mom gave me when I was little, because when I would pout I would stick my lips out like...well, like chickenlips! Funny though, none of my sweet little chickens have lips. Hmmm...

Well, Belinda, if you're looking for kindred spirits - you have most definately come to the right place! Farming/gardening/growing in Arizona would be quite a challenge, I would think.
Love the screen name! ;-D

I'm heading south for the winter. Some parts of my body already have a head start!
