Wow, I really love this site! The first time I heard of Mary Jane's Farm was from her magazine that I came across at the store one day. I bought it and enjoy going through it again and again. I also checked her book out of the library and thought it was great(would love to have my own copy someday!). It never occurred to me there might be a website until I saw a link posted on another forum the other day!!! Of course now that I have been directed here I can plainly see the web address on the back of the magazine .

I have been reading a lot of posts but thought I would stop in here and say a quick hello. My husband and I live on ten acres in SE KY. We have several cows, a horse that is not broke and an indoor cat at this moment but we have had dogs, chickens, pigs, and goats too! I hope to get some more chickens this spring. I like to garden, sew, knit, crochet and just do crafts in general. We have 3 grown children the youngest of which will be 21 next month. She still technically lives at home but is away at school right now. My oldest son is at home temporarily (hopefully very temporarily!). It seems like one or the other is always moving in or out!

Have a great day!!

Hello and welcome from Iowa! I've been to Kentucky, and yup, it's a nice place! Lovely! Enjoy the farm girls, and that's right, it's addictive! My kitchen sink and carpets know it -- they have telltale messages screaming at me: "It's time to remove the dirt!" I don't think I will ever have to play scrabble with myself again in the middle of a sleepless night to entertain myself! Enjoy us, I'm sure we'll enjoy you! Sis Lucy

May the good Lord take a likin' to ya!

Thanks lambgirl. I usually use my first and middle name as my username but I tried to be a little more creative this time! I have really been wanting to order chicks this spring and get some seeds started for the garden so I came up with Chix-N-Dirt. Of course I am also a chick who likes to play in dirt!!!

Welcome from another Kentucky farmgirl! I live in the northcentral part of the state - Harrison County - at the edge of the beautiful bluegrass region. I have 2 sons - ages 24 and 20, and a 22-year old daughter, and 3 GREAT grandbabies! I just joined this bunch a couple of weeks ago - it is my treat to myself to take time every few days to read and chat! I know you're gonna love it! I've learned so much already, and everyone is so very nice and helpful.

Knewslady, I am in Laurel County. It is much hillier (if that is a word!) over here than it is in western KY. Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!!
