I'm finding out that I am more "country" in my heart than I ever knew. I'm a retired Hospice/oncology RN, married to the love of my life, 2 kids, 4 grands and no pets due to health issues. I have found my retired passion of quilting and have an enormous addiction to fabric that my honey supports completely. We have a group of weekly quilting ladies who come and make comfort quilts for hospice.
Thanks for the opportunity to join others gals who love the concepts of "country".

Hello again, I feel like I've lost track of everyone. My apologies. July 12th was the day our life changed dramatically. My husband Rick had a bad dream, startled awake and hit his head. Feeling a bit foolish, he got up, took a couple of Tylenol and went back to bed. I found him 5 hrs later with unequal pupils and vomiting. Off we went to the local hospital, where they stabilized him and transported him to a bigger hospital for brain surgery. After 10 days in ICU, and 5 on the neural floor, he is now at St Luke's Rehab Center for the next couple of weeks. I had a bit of embroidery with me but he was light sensitive so didn't do very much of anything while at his bedside.

Welcome Jan and Hello! from the neighboring state of Idaho. A ridiculous list of quilts to make isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially when they are as lovely as yours.

If you're interested in a henhouse, give my sunny son Brian a call and he can explain it all to you, 888-750-6004. Or you can just pitch in over where Katmom suggested, "pop over to the 'stitching' topic,,, you will find more threads on sewing and quilting,,, Linda has a BOM thread going."

Hi Jan! Welcome from probably your closest neighbor so far..SE Washington..and fellow quilter. And nurse! Forgot that. You will love it here. So many people to meet and so much to learn. I'm not on here a lot. There is so much to do with animals and gardening and volunteer things and to still find time for quilting, but I have two kids who live in Spokane so I do get up that way. Maybe a meet-up is in our future.

Good morning everyone! Hope all your guys had a good Father's Day and are back to work so you have a moment for a sip of coffee and a chat. I'm starting a day with a ramble, so hope no one minds. My QOV quilt is bound and ready for it's label. Another practice quilt is on the longarm and I've been practicing (doodling) a new motif to use on it. Under my Bernina needle is a pieced 12 inch star for a barn quilt swap that has to be mailed by the first. Wishing I had made it much larger...might start again. Those are the tasks I'm looking forward to. Dad (91 years) passed away and there is a stack of paperwork that I also need to plow thru today. That's the nitty gritty stuff going on. Hope you are having a good start on your week. Blessings on your Monday.

So sorry. I've lost my way moving around MJF and couldn't figure out how to get back. Thanks for all the great messages. I just finishes a QOV and got it off the longarm so am a bit tickled. It's ready for gifting now. Multiple projects on the back burner...well to be honest, more projects than I can live to complete. But my 2016 list is rediculous! What is your passion?

Hi Jan, And Welcome. It's so great what you do, sharing your gift of sew to all people. I myself like to sew, embellish with fabric and lace on jackets and hats. I have also ,made three quilts. My favorite hobby is decoupage.

Hi Jan - Welcome to the sisterhood. Wow, we have so much in common... I know Spokane quite well - my husband's relatives come from that area and we spent many holidays visiting Latah, Colfax and Spokane. We are now living back in my home land of Australia, but I still love to explore the Palouse when we fly back. I am also a fellow nurse - working mainly in emergency. And, as for quilting, my Mum and I love to quilt. I know exactly what you mean by a fabric addiction - you should see my Mum's sewing room!! Hope you enjoy chatting with like-minded "sisters".
