I have been following this site for a while and just couldn't stand not to jump in any longer. My name is Kathy and I live in a small town in Kentucky. I am actually only 45 miles north of Nashville, Ten.. but have a Kentucky zip code. The area is pretty rural, and of course, the hills of Kentucky are beautiful. I have three grown children and two grandbabies. Anyone who has grandchildren knows I don't need to say anymore, they are certainly the light of my life.
I love the country way of life, crafts, READING, painting, and reading again.
Have a good one. I look forward to making a lot of new friends.

Hi Kathy,

Welcome to the forum. I need to visit Kentucky one of these days! It sounds so beautiful. I've been all over the country, but this is one of the states I've missed. Anyway- glad you're on the site now.

Hello from another Kentucky farmgirl, Kathy. I live/work in Louisville now, but my dh and I are working on an old farmhouse on 23 acres in Irvington(Breckinridge County) and hope to move there this year.

Hi Kathy,
You came to the right place to make friends! This is the very nicest group on the web! So happy to have another bookworm among us. You'll find kindred spirits here!
I travel through your area from time to time...on route to Nashville. Probably everyone says that, right? Very pretty country.
Post often so we can get to know you better!
Welcome!

Greetings from another Cathy in Kentucky! I live in the BEAUTIFUL bluegrass region (northcentral) part of our great state - way out in the sticks past the little town of Cynthiana. I, too have grandchildren - 3 precious blessings, and another due this summer. It is really cool to get in touch with someone with whom I have so much in common via the computer! I have visited this site occasionally, but time constraints prevent me from doing so very often. I decided tonight that I deserved a little "vacation", and I am so glad that I logged on.

Welcome Kathy! I think I should do my own intro topic section now. I look forward to joining in as often as I can.

Welcome Kathy! Glad you decided to join in, we do have alot of fun here. My fraternal grandparents were born in Red Boiling Springs and later had a farm outside of Portland, TN. I visited as a child and remember green, green, green! It was beautiful, glad you live in such a place too! What do you like to read? We are always talking about books and sometimes swapping too! Nice to have you with us!

with a happy heart

Welcome Kathy! Kentucky is such a beautiful place. My sister lives in Newport, right near Cincinnati. So, I get to drive through the whole beautiful state when I go to visit her. :) My dream is to move to Berea one day. Who knows if it will happen, but I just love that area!
Glad you have joined us.

Welcome Kathy!!
I agree that Kentucky is so beautiful. My only little granddaughter was born there 4 and 1/2 years ago!! I got to go out there when she was born to visit and loved it there (near Paducah) it was so green!! She lives in Calif now so I don't guess I will get to go to Kentucky again any time soon but you sure live in a pretty area. I think you will just love it here...a wonderful group of gals. I learn something new here every day!

Welcome Kathy,
So glad you joined in! My Grandmother was from Pineville KY. She and just about all her family moved up to NY in the late 1940's, but she STILL subscribes to the local newspaper!
Can't wait to hear more of your goings on!

Good morning, Kathy,

You must live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. I've always dreamed of going to Kentucky and Tennessee, but we don't travel much...

Welcome. This is a great place to be, lots of good advice and humor. Being a grandma is definitely indescribable, isn't it? Reading is one of my favorite pastimes; there are times I actually have to make myself not read so everything else gets done!!
