HEY I lived in Silvedale...it was pretty to me and I loved being able to look at and see the mountains. What a small world!!! Where do you live now?? I always think if I have to go back, I would live in Silverdale.

Welcome Catscharm from a former Bremerton Girl,
Glad you stumbled on to this web site. I grew up in Spokane with the airforce all around me and moved to Bremerton with my former Navy husband in 1972. We lived there amongst lots of military people for about 10 years and then moved to Silverdale a small distance away trying to get where we could raise our children in the country life way that my husband grew up in. The city kept following us. We have finally got to the country after over 30 years of trying. Never give up is my motto. Welcome

I don't know how I found this website but I love it already. Glad you SIL is home safe. I was not that far from him in Bremerton. Small world huh?? My goals now that I am "home" are to get back to a basic farming/simple country life and have been looking at several websites to help me in that. I think I got lost in the whole military style of life and forgot what I value most. Look forward to reading this site and posting. Thanks again.

Welcome Catscharm! You will find comfort here and learn alot of things, some you didn't even know you wanted to learn! haha

My SIL is also in the Navy. He's currently stationed at Everett, WA. He was on the aircraft carrier Truman deployed to the Middle East during the big thing in 2002-3. So, so glad to have him back safely and my whole family nearer now. I cannot imagine the whole "space" thing, or lack thereof, on a ship, so you must be just thrilled to be in your own space now. And there is comfort in preparing that space and making it welcoming for when your hubby returns, too.

Glad you found us!

HI everyone. Well I was born and raise in CT before it turned into the casino capital of the world. My town used to be a beautiful country town. We lived simply and grew our own gardens of vegetable and flowers. I had my cats and even a few rabbits at one point. I joined the Navy and have lived in Lemoore, CA, Bremerton, WA and I had a break in service so I lived for a short time in upstate NY. I am married to someone who is also in the military so we got stationed here together in SD. I just returned from 6 months in the Persian Gulf onboard an aircraft carrier so the farm/simple life is calling me. My hubby returns in about 5 weeks from deployment. Trying to get the house together so we can enjoy each other's company. He is a cowboy for TX so he likes the farm/country life too. Thanks for all the nice welcomes.
