Posted - Dec 01 2015 : 4:43:56 PM Hello! I grew up in rural Illinois, but have spent the past decade in the city. I am ready to return to my rural roots and this is the perfect place for me to get started. I am so excited to learn so many skills that I've put off because city life has kept me busy. |

Posted - Mar 22 2016 : 07:58:49 AM After being a bit quiet on here for a few months, I find myself incredibly fortunate to have found this community of farmgirls. A month ago my wife took an amazing job opportunity 150 miles away, I am now in Chicago by myself for a few months until my job lets me work from home full time (which is happening by October 1 at the latest). Merit badges are a great way to keep me busy and avoid idle time. I eventually want to have my own homestead and I'm using this time alone to learn new skills. I'm so excited to share more of myself with you and learn more about all of you! Technology is really an amazing thing to bring all of us together like this :)

Posted - Dec 15 2015 : 5:08:47 PM Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I rarely have anyone to chat with who shares my interests in crafting and DIY, so it's been overwhelming (in a good way) to poke around and see how supportive and connected you all are. I finally got the Ideabook to start planning the merit badges I want to work on as soon as Christmas is behind me. I am making a huge granny square afghan as a gift and that's taking up all my time (270 4" granny squares make a HUGE blanket!).
