Posted - Nov 16 2015 : 08:27:28 AM Hi!
I live on a ranch in British Columbia, Canada. I have three grown children, five grandchildren, and one arriving any day. I LOVE my life, and when not helping with ranch work, I write or quilt. (Have several dozen short stories published and currently working on a novel set in the Canadian prairies in the 1920's.)
Looking forward to being here. |

Posted - Nov 24 2015 : 08:45:30 AM Hi, Jilly!
The ranch is between Dawson Creek and Fort Saint John. I know of no other farmgirls in BC. My married son lives in Victoria, so I was in your neighbourhood in July when I went to visit him.
Thank you, everyone, for the encouragement for writing the novel... days to write are so few and far between... and I need an extra push to write on days when I can.

Posted - Nov 16 2015 : 11:03:11 AM Hi, Bramblerose. Welcome from way down in Texas. It's good to have another writer join us. Sounds like we're sort of on the same path. My first book, middle-grade historical novel set in east Texas, will be released on the 26th, and I'm working on another one for older readers. Keep writing!

Posted - Nov 16 2015 : 10:13:39 AM I like cowboy poetry. For several years I attended a Cowboy Church and met several 'real-life' cowboys that wrote. Loved to hear them read their poems.

Posted - Nov 16 2015 : 09:09:22 AM I write in several genres, but mostly historical fiction. I also write cowboy poetry. I have an idea for a "hist myst" series, but I have to get the current novel out of my head first.
ETA ... I also have a very neglected blog about ranch life. |

Posted - Nov 16 2015 : 09:04:18 AM Hi Bramblerose, from northeast Texas. Welcome to the Farm. I so like to hear a woman say she loves her life.
In what genre or genres do you write? I have published several personal stories and gardening articles. Written cozy mysteries for friends and my own pleasure.
