I originally posted this in the Sewing and Crafts forum. That was where I found this wonderful place! So now I am posting in the correct forum to say hello to everyone!!

Hi everyone!!

I just joined today. I found you while doing a search online for a pattern for a child's cobbler apron (preferably a free one). It is a simple pattern, so I thought for sure I could find a freebie. Anyway, I found this forum and am so glad I did!!!

I read a ton of entries about all the aprons some of you have done and wanted more! Here's an intro that pretty well sums me up:

My daughter(28 yo) and I have a small business we started a little less then a year ago. She makes jewelry and some crafts. I do tons of sewing, embroidery, crocheting, some jewelry and just about anything I can figure out!! Jane of all trades and mistress of none!!!
You can see our site at http://www.2ewenique.com

We are both disabled due to fibromyalgia and a couple of other chronic illnesses, so we decided since we liked doing some "crafty" things to keep ourselves from going crazy, why not make a little business out of it, so that is how 2Ewenique was born!

I'm 50, think like 25 and often feel like 75, am homeschooling my 16 year old son and very happily married to the love of my life, Kenny. Together, we have a total of 7 children (he had 5 from his first marriage, he's a widower, and I have 2, divorcee). We live in the country in southcentral Ohio on a mountain with an orchard and lots of woods. My dream home! Top it off with 12 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren, 3 dogs, 5 cats and inlaws in their late 80's (FIL will be 90 in March!) and you pretty well get the whole picture! LOL

Hope to stop by and get to know all of you a little better as time allows. I do keep as busy as possible.

Thanks!!!
Cheryl

I can relate...I'm 50... I quit that nonsense 16 years ago(and that was an OOPS!!..lol)
I am retired now due to my health, but was an LPN for 20 plus years!
We have a lot in common! That is awesome!
Look forward to learning more about you!
I have to admit, I am a little jealous of the area you live in, at least this time of year!! Baby, it's cold outside!!!
Til later....Cheryl

Good golly! If I were expecting, someone would have to add another chapter to the Bible! LOL....... I'm 53 - almost 54. :) But I do work as a Maternity Nurse, which is why I am looking for a place with a good size hospital. And I'll definitely keep you posted on my relocation adventure......
Best regards,
Melanie

Oh that is wonderful!! So happy to hear you are returning to the area! We often go to Maysville ourselves. I like it there, too. It's a city, but doesn't have the feel like Cincinnati and such.
Keep me up on your moving plans.
You talk about a hospital, are you expecting? What type of work do you do?

Cheryl

Well, Cheryl, I've been living in the San Francisco Bay area for 14 years. Not exactly farmgirl territory, by my standards. ;) Am now in the serious planning stages of my return to the midwest - this summer, actually. Most probably to Ky; where I still have family. But I'm also looking @ southeastern Ohio - from around Peebles on south towards Augusta & Maysville. Land there is beautiful, & still afordable. My issue is the common one of all single Moms: I have to be near employment (in my case, a fairly large hospital with maternity services), & the schools have to be pretty good. I definitely don't want a long commute! Mercy East is the only place I know about as far as work would go, & it is still pretty close to Cincy.

I'm SOOO glad to hear not much damage has been done to Peebles in the name of growth & "progress." And Kroger's is very acceptable, don't you think? At least they are a locally owned business - or anyway they used to be !! When I would visit outside of Peebles, I dearly loved the many Bob Whites - their call is so lovely. I spent many hours sitting outside in the evening, watching lightening bugs & listening to the Bob Whites.
Looking forward to more chats, on our virtual "front porch" here.....
Melanie

If you love Peebles area, you are a true "farmgirl"...LOL!
15 years, huh? Not much has changed here. The town itself looks basically the same. They are building slowly (VERY slowly)along SR32, but other then that Peebles is static! That is one thing I love about it! Our biggest news lately is we are getting a new Krogers' store on the corner of SR41 and SR32, WOW!!! Big stuff here! I have to drive 18 miles to West Union to Walmart for my shopping. I prefer Krogers. They are supposed to sign the financial part in January, so hopefully we will be shopping there by summer!!

We moved here almost 5 years ago from the Cincinnati area, Loveland. It was like coming home for me, as I grew up in the Hillsboro area. My hubby was a "city boy" and thought he wouldn't like it, but you couldn't drag him out of here now! It has gotten to the point where we hate to go anywhere near the city! All our kids love to come spend a day in the "country". Thankfully, we neither one have to go to work daily, so we don't have to deal with that traffic and rush everyday anymore!!

Where are you located now?

Hi, Cheryl
Welcome!! I know Peebles well - went through there often on "country drives" (getting my fix) while living in Cincinnati. I have a friend who still owns a place in Peebles.
I'm guessing it has grown some in the last 15 years, tho!! (Which was the last time I was there.) I used to especially love going to Serpent Mound - a very powerful place.
Please tell us what Peebles is like these days.
