Posted - Dec 02 2006 : 7:43:07 PM Hello!
I am so glad to finally make my way on here. I bought MaryJane's Ideabook, Cookbook, Lifebook over the summer purely because of the beautiful cover. At that time, I hadn't heard of MaryJane, but am sure glad I found her. I guess I was not looking in the right place! Needless to say, I fell in love with the book and her way of life. She made me see so much more than the idea I had of living on & running a farm.
I do not have my own farm yet... but I am a farmgirl at heart for sure! I have started getting books & reading websites to be ready when that dream day happens. We are making plans & praying for that now.
I have 3 children ages, 17, 16, & 12. At this time I have 1 dog. Can't wait to add more animals and live the farmgirl life.
I look forward to meeting you all. I have read some of the other posts & think I'll feel right at home here!
Kelly

Posted - Dec 06 2006 : 08:03:43 AM Fran, Ft Worth is a very nice city. Just in Nov. we went to the Stockyeard & I got to see my first cattle drive there. They do it 2x daily down one of the only brick roads left there. It was so neat to watch.
I have never gone to burger lake. My son did for one of their class trips. He enjoyed it.
Very interesting to hear that you were a bluegrass singer. Neat name too! Wish I could have a good singing voice, I don't, but I still like to do it anyway. Mostly by myself & to drive my kids a little crazy. They think it's funny.
