Hello!

I am so glad to finally make my way on here. I bought MaryJane's Ideabook, Cookbook, Lifebook over the summer purely because of the beautiful cover. At that time, I hadn't heard of MaryJane, but am sure glad I found her. I guess I was not looking in the right place! Needless to say, I fell in love with the book and her way of life. She made me see so much more than the idea I had of living on & running a farm.

I do not have my own farm yet... but I am a farmgirl at heart for sure! I have started getting books & reading websites to be ready when that dream day happens. We are making plans & praying for that now.

I have 3 children ages, 17, 16, & 12. At this time I have 1 dog. Can't wait to add more animals and live the farmgirl life.

I look forward to meeting you all. I have read some of the other posts & think I'll feel right at home here!

Kelly

Fran,
Ft Worth is a very nice city. Just in Nov. we went to the Stockyeard & I got to see my first cattle drive there. They do it 2x daily down one of the only brick roads left there. It was so neat to watch.

I have never gone to burger lake. My son did for one of their class trips. He enjoyed it.

Very interesting to hear that you were a bluegrass singer. Neat name too! Wish I could have a good singing voice, I don't, but I still like to do it anyway. Mostly by myself & to drive my kids a little crazy. They think it's funny.

no 100 miles is not far for texas, but i hardly ever get off the farm!
and i must say, if i were to go to the big city it would be ft. worth, i luv ya!
to me it is one of the best cities in texas and certainly the best in north texas. so pretty and so much to do, and a wonderful downtown to boot!...or boot scoot
do you ever go to burger lake? it was a favorite for my kids when theywere little also, i love glen rose and grandbury, but that is because in my former life i was a bluegrass singer and in a band called"flat busted and almost broke". we had a really great time. oh, memories.
anywho if you are ever in my neck of the woods please let me know and stop by.....and if you have to be a city girl at least your in foat wurth.

Kelly, You have found a great group of gals! I am new too, but feel right at home. One thing I have found, you can get an answer to ANY question. It's good to know you and the group can figure anything out, just ask! Cindy
