hi my name is Christine, I am from Upstate NY. I am trying to take a little time to check out the site as I am a relatively new member. I want to thank Red Tractor Girl for the beautiful card she sent me in the mail to welcome me to the sisterhood club. It is great to be a part of this club with lots of women with similar interests. I would love to get involved with many of the card swaps and other things you all have going on when I can figure out how to do all this. I love to grow Atlantic Giant Pumpkins and this year I met my personal goal of 1000 lbs. Actually I went over a bit at 1026.5 lol. This is my third year growing and eventually I would love to have the largest pumpkin in NY state.

Wow! That pumpkin is amazing and a beauty, Christine!!! Is it a type of squash or a true pumpkin? Would it be edible. (I know I could look it up. The truth is I'm always curious about what the FarmGirls would say.) So, what do you say?)

Welcome Christine! That is one big pumpkin! I absolutely love it! What do you end up doing with your pumpkins once they are done growing? I sure hope you can reach your goal of the largest pumpkin in NY. You are already setting your own records so you will be there in no time! Good luck with your future pumpkin growing adventures.

Oh my goodness! That pumpkin is amazing!!!!! Okay, curious question, what do you do when it starts to get old? Do they last longer than smaller pumpkins? I've always wondered that. I have not attempted to grow such large pumpkins, but maybe next year I'll try after seeing your inspiration! Fun!

I love everything pumpkins. Wow! That's a super big pumpkin. Welcome to our sisterhood and good luck with you mega pumpkin growing. I'd love to just get one pumpkin here. I have a doxie who eats baby green pumpkins and spots them on the vine before I do! Next year we're going vertical. Even if I have to build shelves!! Keeping this dog out of my garden has been an interesting task. My tomatoes are grown in a four foot high raised bed. He still jumps up and tackles a few that dangle out! He's healthy at age 15!

Hi Christine,
A very warm welcome to you. WOW!! That is a ginormous punkin!!! I would love to receive punkin growing tips from you. I have only grown one and it was by accident when I fed punkin seeds to the chickens. They ate, fertilized and I added to my flower bed. Lo and behold, next thing I knew...there was a pretty punkin growing among my lilies. :)

One the chipmunks did in and the other is still growin nice and bright orange and big. Not a wonderful giant like yours but I'm happy with one. You're just th e far girl to give me some pumpkin growing pointers. You're the expert! Glad to have you in the sisterhood.
