Posted - Jul 06 2015 : 12:12:04 PM LOL, I received the sweetest card from Winnie this weekend reminding me to introduce myself. Thank you for taking the time to write that card Winnie! My name is Jen, I live in Glencoe, MN. I am married with four children. Ellen (15), Lucas (soon to be 13), Wyatt (9) and Sadie (2). We bought 5.3 acre run down hobby farm almost three years ago, so we uprooted the family from city life to rural life. I have a pretty big vision for our little slice of heaven. I am a recent college graduate, it took me six years to earn my Associate of Applied Science degree in Landscape Horticulture. I focused on greenhouse crop production and sustainable food and landscaping. I tend to be a bit of a loner, which is a habit I need to break and part of why I joined the sisterhood. I need to mingle with like minded people. I spend my days raising the children, crafting various things and tending to my gardens. Thank you again Winnie for sending that card! |

Posted - Jul 08 2015 : 8:02:33 PM Hi Jennifer,
A big Hello from the North West. I don't make friends easy and I am very content working, playing, creating art and going places by myself. Though once you get to know me I am genuinely a nice person, so says my friends. Soft spoken and other times talk a little to fast when nervous or excited. The meet and greet at church on Sundays... well lets just say I usually wear a big fancy hats and let the people come to me and start a conversation.

Posted - Jul 07 2015 : 05:33:49 AM Hi Jennifer and a big Welcome to "the Farm" and thanking for telling us all about your little corner of the world. It sounds like you and your family are having a big adventure figuring out how you want to fulfill your homestead dreams!
I love writing to our new members of the Sisterhood because it gives me a chance to welcome each one. We have a great forum here for sharing and I hope you will find lots of opportunities for adding your Farmgirl perspective. If you can, share some photos of some of your farm projects too. We all love to see what others are doing!

Posted - Jul 06 2015 : 6:22:09 PM Hi Jen, and a big welcome from little Delaware! I think you'll find the ladies here are like-minded in all kinds of ways. I've never been much for groups--my daughter always says if I didn't play music I'd be a hermit. But MJF is different, I know you'll be glad you're here. And so are we! Can't wait to learn more about your world!

Posted - Jul 06 2015 : 1:50:13 PM Hi Jen! I'm Wanda, sending you a big welcome from Texas. It's just me here on 25 acres, so things get done a bit slower than with a whole gang. I'm six years out of an unsafe 38 year marriage, and am me again.
Some say I'm a loner but, the truth is, I just love all of God's creation so much! Then, there are those humans...I do fine with or without 'em. I just prefer not to do with them all the time. I joined the sisterhood because I think this is a super group of girls and I bet you will too. So, welcome, newest 'super girl'! ![](icons/icon_smile.gif)
