Posted - Apr 11 2015 : 09:20:54 AM Hi! My name is Wanda and I'm new here. To introduce myself I just copied what I put on my website because it pretty much covers everything - Southern… right side up, upside-down, inside-out…Southern. Sometimes translated Texan. Country… “Cotton-Eyed-Joe” and all that. “Y’all,” “Over yonder,” “Bless its little heart,” and “Fixin’ to” are all part of everyday conversation. Nature lover. All things wild and beautiful. Christian to the bone…’nuff said. Information junkie – according to my cousin. It’s a genetic disease, I think, since said cousin is also similarly afflicted. Collector of, uh, many books (due to the above mentioned affliction). My most treasured book being my Bible. Walker…Lord how I do love to walk. Lover of all creatures non-‘human.’ Be it a teensy insect, a great big critter, or anything in-between, if it needs help or a home – it’s got it.
Right now I'm trying to figure out how things work here so, if I make a goof, I hope y'all will understand. :)

Posted - Apr 30 2015 : 1:59:05 PM Naw!! In 1969 I dated a guy who lived in Porter! In my teens, my family lived about 9 miles from Conroe on, what was then known as, Porter Road.
Isn't that something?

Posted - Apr 16 2015 : 06:58:29 AM Awww, Bonnie. What a nice thing to say. I'll be 68 in July and figure I'm on the back side of 'pretty' but it's still nice to hear.
Thanks for the welcome, Connie. I love that picture. We aren't very far apart - in numbers - I'm Sister #3399! I think I should look into adding a signature on here...Hmm...

Posted - Apr 15 2015 : 4:43:49 PM Marlene, I'm glad you were impressed. I know it must really be something but, I have to confess - after living my entire life in Texas, I have never been to Dallas or Fort Worth! I know, shame on me. I've left Texas only twice, walked across the border to Mexico when I was 12 and went to Louisiana to visit relatives when I was 9 (my daddy was Cajun and my mother was half Cherokee - what a mix! I ended up with fair skin and blue-gray eyes.)
I'm a big lover of small towns. I especially love historical buildings and woods. Hope I'm not a big disappointment to you and we get to know each other better here. :)
