Hi,

I live on 9 acres in Virginia. I have somewhere over 100 chickens, 7 rabbits, two disabled persons I care for and a "special needs" dog who can really herd chickens....
I quilt, spin, knit, can, garden, sew (other), love to hike, fish, camp. I've lived from coast to coast but here the longest. I've been reading Mary Jane's for a few years and decided to join you wonderful people.

Hey Cindy, Welcome! I'm an on again/off again lurker as I seem to run out of time to catch up on this forum. I'm also a Virginia farm girl, although I'm in the other end of the state. I'm a city girl who turned farm girl 12 years ago. I live on a 183 acre farm that has been in my husband's family for over 100 years. We bought the farm when it was going to be sold out of the family with the intention of retiring here. Well, that plan changed and here we are! We raise meat goats, pigs, laying chickens, and have a market garden. We're also getting ready to launch a farmstay B&B. Glad to see others from Virginia here. Stay in touch!

Well, hello Cindy from Virginia - from another Cindy in Virginia! I'm in Fairfax, and went a lovely shade of envy-green when I looked up where you are located.

If there are any other members in the very general Fredericksburg area, let's look in to starting a Chapter, if you are interested. I'm retired and travel is not an issue.

Welcome-

Welcome Cindy. You sound like you have come to the right place. I giggled when you said you have about 100 chickens. They're hard to count sometimes. It will be fun to chat. Hope your weather is not as cold as ours. Glad to have you.
