Hi!! Just joined and have spent the day lurking...you seem like a friendly bunch, so I will show myself!! I am an "older" farmgirl, as I see many of you have young children. My 3 are grown (21 yr old still at home) so now I mother 4 dogs, 6 cats and 2 goats on my 6 acres of paradise! Would like to become more knowledgeable on the "home arts"--canning, preserving, etc. Y'all have it goin' on!!!

I agree with Nini- you do sound very cool to me!! My 3 daughters are grown, my youngest is 17 and a Senior in High School- I don't care for it much- I wish I could make them go backwards- they grow up so fast. The girls here are Fab U Lous!! I learn new things every day. I have found everyone to be so sharing and supportive!!

Glad you are here!!

Hi Lora,
I am a city girl with a farming heart. There are many of us here in Minneapolis. I garden, reduce, reuse, recycle, restyle, crochet, knit and cook. I am involved in a variety of volunteer activities. I have a 61 year old little boy at home. (My dear husband or DH for short.) Jump right in. Ask questions and offer wisdom.

Welcome Lora! So glad you joined us. I'm sure the farmgirls here can help you out with preserving and canning. The are quite the pro's at it and it is amazing to see how much they do during the growing season. We love seeing their pantry pictures when they are done.

Hi Lora,
I am a middle age lady with a husband & our one son 18. I enjoy decoupage art and a few other craft activities. I am going to try to make my first homemade strawberry pie this weekend for my mother's 84 B'day.

When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”
