Hi, I am Birdi, newly farm-girled in Maine. I may have been born and raised in the city , but I realized a very long time ago that I didnt fit in and have have been moving away from it my whole life. I love to sew, cook, can, craft and so on. I always thought I was just born in the wrong time and would be a great country gal. Boy! Was I ever right!

I just found your site through a friend that read one of the books and knew this was me. She was right and I am so excited to have found all of you.

We are going to raise chickens in the spring and already I am planning the garden and flowers, the crafts...oh my.. I really am excited. I feel like a wide-eyed child in my new way of life. I knew this is where I belonged.

I'll ask you to be patient with me when I ask a "silly city girl" question, I have been known to have a few of those. I am self-taught in many things and enjoy the wisdom of those knowledgeable. Once in a while, my raising shows through. I'm sure that you will get a good chuckle or two, we'll laugh together.

My fella has a farmboy version of this site...and Ive loved hearing about it. He's commented already that I will have a second home. Thanks for being here.

Hi Birdi and welcome to the group - you will love it here - it is an addiction! Everything sounds very exciting for you - I'm so happy for you! I am still trying to plan my getaway to the country, but with a reluctant hubby, it is proving very difficult! Let us know all about how you get on!
Best wishes,
Jayne

I bet your friends, when they relay something you said to them can say "A little Birdi told me!". Oooh, ouch. :)

Welcome, and tell us what the "guy" version of our website is that your fella visits! That sounds interesting.

Peace

Hi Birdi,

I love your name!!! Reminds me of Sandra Bullock in "Hope Floats". (or was her name Bertie?) Anyway, glad you joined us. We all have so much to learn from each other and teach each other too.

Hi Birdi! Welcome from another city bred farmgirl in training! I've still got one foot in the city while my dh and I fix up our old farmhouse. I've learned something every day from the fantastic ladies here. Keep us posted on all your adventures!

Hi Birdi and welcome! There are no silly questions when it comes to living like a farmgirl!! That's what we are here for- to help each other and to learn. I love Maine. My grandparents B had a camp in Wells and my other grandparents K had a trailer in York Beach, so we were all over that state in the summer!! Glad you found us!
