Posted - Nov 05 2013 : 09:45:48 AM Hello all, I'm here because of Farmgirl miracles. My first miracle is a long time member of Mary Jane's farm girls. She is @sherone_ 13 and she's my little sister and my greatest support and supporter and my hero.
Sherone recently put a post in Hogs and Quiches and Prayers about my son Adam Mackley and his fight for his daughter Cadence in Utah. From that she copied to me a long list of support posts from the FarmGirls that just let me know that my son and I are not alone in our concern and our fight to bring this little girl back to her daddy.
Then a couple of days later, on a day when I was feeling completely overwhelmed with the thought of Cadence spending her 2nd birthday away from her dad and I had been crying all morning On that particular day Sherone emailed me a poem called 'Brokeness' written by a FarmGirl that spoke volumes telative to my journey in this life.
In the mail later that day I also got a sheet from an anonymous FarmGirl in Texas. The sheet was a gift to help Sherone and I get our fledgling business started. I hadn't asked for sheets to be sent, I hadn't considered that they even could be sent and I certainly hadn't considered on that bad, hard day that I would be receiving a gift towards my sister's and my dream.
I was floored by the love. I just felt like there was this there was floating bubble of FarmGirls out there just holding me up without me even knowing about it. You were all holding me up and I just thought I need to be part of this at least two thank you although my words seem so frail compared to my gratitude. These acts of love changed me, buoyed me and gave me hope to take one more step and one more step.
I'm not sure if I'm a FarmGirl but I but I know that I'm drawn to this kind of a support system and this kind of love. So I'm here and I'm here to learn how to be to add FarmGirl to my gypsy status. I am here to learn how to act from a place of love in all things.
Thank you everyone and thank you mostly to my sister Sherone.
Peace be with you and all that jazz..... |

Posted - Nov 06 2013 : 2:38:35 PM Thank you everyone:) Michigan, Minnesota, Colorado, Wyoming - ya'll are in winter wonderlands! Florida is far far away from my roots in so many ways. It still feels like I'm on vacation everyday when I pass signs that say 'Daytona Beach', Miami, Port Canaveral, Disney, Universal and when I go to the beach I see the Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center where they built all those shuttles that I saw launch on TV. There is sand in my bed every night and I haven't worn shoes, long pants or even a shirt with sleeves for over a year.
I'm missing the seasons this year though. After 3 1/2 years in a motor home and then a year recovering from debilitating knee surgery I kind of got out of so many rhythms. I am going to start collecting jars and canning supplies so I can can in the spring growing season. I've been sleeping on the porch a lot but last night had to come in because its was 73 degrees and 88% humidity. So grateful for air conditioning.
Peace be with you and all that jazz..... |

Posted - Nov 05 2013 : 3:04:13 PM Hey seester. Welcome to the wonderful world of Farmgirl Heaven! I cannot tell you how many times these wonderful ladies have loved me, supported me, taught me, and listened to me. Believe it or not, you are a Farmgirl at Heart. "Farmgirl is a condition of the Heart", as quoted by our founder MaryJane Butters. You have all the attributes of a Farmgirl, because you live your life using your heat as a guide. I'm so happy you are here! I love you sis!
