Hi everyone! I'm Diane and live in a beautiful rural part of New Jersey. I'm an empty nester and now I have time to spend on my favorite things. I have a kitchen and herb garden that I love to work in, especially in cooler weather. I'm going to experiment this winter with a raised bed covered in heavy duty plastic to extend the season. Maybe I'll have kale at Christmas! I love to paint, sew, crochet and quilt. Guess I'm an old-fashioned girl. Here is a picture of our beautiful fall weekend. Trees are almost at peak! Looking forward to meeting new friends!

Hello again, I make laundry soap now I'm working on bar soap and yes I agree lye scared me too but I took a class and feel I can do this!!!! Hope so. What is gardener's soap? Sounds really cute. I'v never heard of tunnel gardening, see I'm already learning so much!! Do you have snow and or cold winters there? The only gardening we do here is in the house durning the winter. Good luck on your gardening, let me know how it turns out.

Debra, I've tried making soap but working with lye scares me a little. I made little gardener's soaps that I molded in mini clay flower pots and packaged them that way tied with raffia. Family and friends thought they were cute. I'm going to try small tunnel gardening this winter and see how that goes. We try to pack too many veggies into our small garden during the summer. Next year we'll plant less and hopefully have healthier plants. I wish you lots of luck with your soap project, sounds like fun!

Thank you for the welcome. I don't sell my soap on line yet, working on that. I have been just doing it in sales and shops. How long can you garden in your state? Ares is over here too cold!!! But I love gardening. What do you grow? God Bless debra jean

Hi Debra! Welcome to you too! Snowing in Minnesota already? We have'nt had any snow yet in Jersey just a little frost. Those aren't quilts hanging on my clothsline they are vintage tablecloths. I just love them and like to collect them. Oooh it was so windy that day and I thought they would make a pretty picture. The dog is my pup Kira. You quilt too? I do too but my last quilt took me years to finish. LOL!

Hi Jessie! Goodness, another 'Jersey Girl'! Are you a city girl or country girl? New Jersey is so diverse. We even have the Jersey shore (the beach, not the TV show lol).

Hi Luanne. No kidding, yep you are really close. I live about a mile from the Delaware river in Harmony. I do love this area too. I'm not so crazy about the winters though. Hubby wants to relocate to No. Carolina when he retires...milder winters.

Hi Diane!

We're neighbors - sort of. I live in Northeast PA, across the border from you near Stroudsburg.

Hope you enjoy it here as much as I do!

Oh Teresa, we are both lucky! We weren't hit badly either. Lost power for a week so we were 'glamping' in our house for that week lol! Not hit nearly as bad as the shore area. Thanks a bunch for peeking at my new website! I've been creating farmstyle pretties for many years but decided to do a website just recently.:)

Diane, I can see myself now, putting on snow boots to go out and harvesting some baby greens! I love it!

Thankfully, my home completely survived Sandy. The schools were closed for a week, due mostly to downed trees. My town is nestled in between the Great South Bay and Long Island Sound, so those communities closer to the water were hit harder--especially the North Shore. How about you?

I took a peek at your website~~ Beautiful~~
How long have you been creating such lovelies?

Welcome Diane. I live in the largest city in Minneapolis and love to meet new people and have learned that many are too busy to meet in person so this is as good as it gets for me. I would like to invite you to look at the monthly dish cloth swap. We like more and merry.
