Posted - Oct 29 2006 : 08:33:11 AM Hello Everyone,
I've been reading the magazine for a few years now and I love it. I'm an urban farmgirl who's into gardening, cooking and crafting. I'm also in my last year of college writing my thesis on female settlers in the American west during the nineteenth century. I keep track of my ramblings on my blog The Apartment Farm at http://apartmentfarm.wordpress.com.

Posted - Nov 01 2006 : 06:02:56 AM Hi Amanda - One of my best farmgal pals has a history degree and will be teaching a class in women's history next semester(she's been teaching computer info systems, etc. for the past 10 years). She and I are big history buffs and would love to read excerpts from your thesis. BTW - Checked out your website - I really love that "Woodswoman" book, too. I picked up my copy from a thrift store and couldn't put it down once I started it. It's in my bookcase next to "Walden".

Posted - Oct 31 2006 : 3:06:25 PM Hi Amanda!! Your thesis sounds really interesting!! My great grandmother was born in the 1800's in a dugout in Beaver City, Neb. so I have always thought of myself as coming from pioneering stock. Her family came from England. I would love to hear some excerpts from you thesis someday, that subject really appeals to me. Welcome aboard! Kel |
