Hello Everyone,

I've been reading the magazine for a few years now and I love it. I'm an urban farmgirl who's into gardening, cooking and crafting. I'm also in my last year of college writing my thesis on female settlers in the American west during the nineteenth century. I keep track of my ramblings on my blog The Apartment Farm at http://apartmentfarm.wordpress.com.

Wow, it's so nice to feel so welcome! My thesis won't be done until May-ish, but I'll keep you all posted!

Hi Amanda,

Welcome. I've been an urban and a rural farmgirl. Glad to have you onboard. Will have to check out your blog at home. I'm at work now (bad debbie). You'll love it here.

Hi Amanda - One of my best farmgal pals has a history degree and will be teaching a class in women's history next semester(she's been teaching computer info systems, etc. for the past 10 years). She and I are big history buffs and would love to read excerpts from your thesis.
BTW - Checked out your website - I really love that "Woodswoman" book, too. I picked up my copy from a thrift store and couldn't put it down once I started it. It's in my bookcase next to "Walden".

Hi Amanda!! Your thesis sounds really interesting!! My great grandmother was born in the 1800's in a dugout in Beaver City, Neb. so I have always thought of myself as coming from pioneering stock. Her family came from England. I would love to hear some excerpts from you thesis someday, that subject really appeals to me. Welcome aboard!

Welcome Amanda! I'm in NW Indiana, just about 70 mi SE of you. I was in Chicago for a birthday party last Saturday on the 33rd floor of the "W" Hotel overlooking Navy Pier. Spectacular!! My husband just dreads going to the City, but I just love to visit there!

Welcome, Amanda! I'm originally from "Chicagoland" too - Elmhurst - but now unfortunately living in Florida (I'm one of those crazy people who much prefers snow to sun). Keep us posted on your thesis, it sounds facsinating!
