Hello! I'm Sabrina :)

I was born and raised here on the Emerald Coast of Florida.

I've been a "farmgirl at heart" for as long as I can remember. I enjoy gardening, cooking, and sewing most of all. We have taken many baby steps over the past 6 years to be good stewards of the earth and now we are ready to take a really big step! After spending a week on my Uncle's beautiful farm in Ohio we decided to take the plunge (rather than wait 5 years) and move to the country! We are a few days away from closing on a home with 4 acres about an hour inland (we live about 5 minutes from the coast). We have a 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son. My husband works full time. I stay at home with the kids and run a photography business primarily shooting maternity, births and newborns.

I stumbled across the Farmgirl Connection/Sisterhood while looking at farming related topics on Pinterest and was completely smitten! Growing up I wanted to be a Girl Scout but was too shy to ever join. I have thought about encouraging my daughter to do it when she's old enough, but the Sisterhood is the PERFECT community for us!

I'm sure I will need plenty of advice as we start our homesteading journey, so I couldn't have found this forum at a better time. I'm hoping to meet local Farmgirls and possibly join a chapter.

Happy to be here!!

Welcome Sabrina! I can feel your excitement of your new home and the life you're about to enter from your post, Good for you and your family! Your children will thrive living on an acreage and learning to love the land. It gets in your blood and never leaves. I lived on a working farm as a child but as an adult I've always lived in the city. The farmgirl is still there though. The lifelong lessons of farm life are so good for kids as well as adults. You'll love being a part of this wonderful group. Enjoy!

Hi Sabrina,

I'm on the east coast south of Daytona Bch and North of Orlando. We are about 35 minutes from the ocean. I've lived in Florida all my life and would love to get to know you better.

I have one daughter who is 23 and it gets lonely with just me and the pup and cat to talk to now. lol
