Howdy everyone I am new to the Farmgirl community. I have read the magazine for months and for my birthday last week my wonderful daughter subscribed me to the neighborhood of Mary Jane's Farm it was the best birthday present I received this year....don't tell my husband he took me to the mountains for the weekend to celebrate. Just a few things about me - I use to work in the Corporate world until my career was cut short by downsizing - I decided after 30 yrs I was done with the corporate world, I took some of my retirement money and purchased a long arm quilting machine and opened a business in my home - we call it the dungeon as it is in the basement. I do this all year but to get out I work in a Garden Center during the Summer months I love how it gets me close to nature. I have 2 daughters and 2 sons all in their adult years 19-27 of age. Sadly we were due to have our first grandchild this Summer but in the 35th week of pregnancy my daughter-in-law lost the baby - oh that little girl was beautiful. I enjoy gardening, quilting, knitting, needle work of all kinds, playing with my 2 dogs and being outside in any form of weather. I am very excited to be a part of this community and cant' wait to meet others.

Happy Farming

Hi Larie,
Welcome to MJF's from a Wisconsin gal. Such a nice birthday present you received :) I'm so sorry you lost your granddaughter to miscarriage. My heartfelt sympathy to your family. I can't even imagine the pain that must have been to you all. Gentle hugs. Kudos to you on taking a giant leap into starting your own business in your home. I'm sure you'll reap the rewards of making that decision. I know you're going to love this place. So many women here with like minds and sharing talents and friendships with other women is so rewarding.

Enjoy!
Cheryl
