Posted - Jul 10 2013 : 2:50:38 PM Hi Eveyone,
I'm From the North Central part of Florida. I live on a small 2 acre homestead with my husband and 2 of our 5 children. The other three have left the nest We have start our homestead from scratch about 1 year ago. We are now happy to have pigs, donkey, ducks, chickens, geese, one dog and two house cats.... We are also homeschoolers and love every minute of it. (even on the bad days)I found this forum and loved what I read that I became a sister. I look forward to making friends and getting to know everyone here.

Posted - Aug 06 2013 : 05:50:50 AM Hello with a welcome from one of the Jersey girls. So glad to have you join us here. Look forward to getting to know you. We raise chickens and at present have 3 dogs. We home schooled our children and this year I will have the opportunity to teach sewing to my granddaughter who is also being home schooled. I understand about those hard days.

Posted - Aug 05 2013 : 11:08:03 PM Welcome sister Dee from sister #353 in Wisconsin! I think you'll love it here. There are a lot of homeschooling moms onsite that I'm sure you'll find invaluable. Your busy farm life must keep you hopping. You've packed a lot into a short amount of time and I envy you. So wish I could have at least some chickens but our city laws prevent that. I had a great childhood on the farm though and treasure those memories. Always a farm girl at heart :) So nice meeting you!

Posted - Jul 24 2013 : 09:24:58 AM Hi there! I'm new to the forum, and am from Florida also! Your home sounds amazing. I know that 301 route well, traveling back and forth to Gainesville. So glad to see some other Florida people right away! I'm at the beach north of Jax - I saw a couple Jax chapters and will have to investigate. My heart is in the Gainesville area though! |

Posted - Jul 10 2013 : 3:52:17 PM Welcome Dee!!!! I know you will love it here and fit right in with the rest of us. There are a lot of homeschoolers on here. I live in town, so do not have any farm animals, only a 3 year old Yorkie. We live in the upper peninsula of Michigan, but next year we will be retired and travelling the states and will be in the south in the winter.
