Hey all,
My name is Kim, I'm from Rhode Island.
I have a small hobby farm in Hope Valley, lots of chickens and two very pregnant goats! I'd love to connect with sisters who have some kidding knowledge as I am a first timer and I'm quite anxious about the whole process!

Hello and Welcome Kim from a nearby neighbor. I am just across the RI/CT line on rt. 14. I literally drive through Hope Valley a few times a week on rt 138. You will love it here on the farm. Lots of very nice people, knowledgeable and ready to share.
If all goes well, I am hoping to get a pair of goats next spring. In the mean-time I am studying up on all things goat, just like you. I found a useful magazine called the Dairy Goat Journal on the magazine stand at Tractor Supply, and there is a goat farm in RI which I am planning to visit. www.travisfamilyfarm.com It's so good to have a sister nearby!

Teri, Marlee, Darlene, Susan and Liz, thanks for the warm welcome!
We had our first kid this morning, excited to welcome one very handsome little Lamancha male to our herd! Quite an experience! If I can figure out how, I will post some pics!

Hello Kim,

My husband and I used to raise goats, and the kidding part of the process is a full experience--exciting, heartbreaking, tender, touching, and really cool, especially if there are young children around to lend a hand, learn, etc.

Please let me know how I can be helpful to you. Here to serve...

Hi Kim,
Welcome, you will find so much here. It sounds like people experienced with goat are your first draw here, but there is so much more! Great advice, great recipes, craft and sewing ideas and friendship.

Welcome Kim. I am not a farmer, but I am sure you will get to know a lot of farmgirls that do have goats and breed them. Looking forward to knowing you better.
