I'm new to the forum and live in Joplin, MO. Our city was hit by an EF5 tornado in May of 2011. We are recovering beautifully and have been the recipients of incredible volunteerism from around the world. If you have been a volunteer, thank you! I work on a local committee that is committed to providing art in public places and our first outdoor mural, The Butterfly Effect, is a moving statement of the healing that continues to take place after all of our lives were touched by tragedy. If you are ever near our city, please stop in and see our recovery! Resilience is a beautiful thing.....

Hi Stephanie, welcome. I've been here a week or two already, and have a penpal, and a seed swap going on. Life is good, and fun here.

So very happy you viewed the mural link I posted. We are incredibly proud of our community and I am happy to know that art has played such a powerful role in our healing. We have such great things happening here in JOMO! Here's another example of art at work in the healing process for the children of Joplin.

Hi Stephanie
Welcome to the farm, I am so glad you are ok after that horrid Tornado hit. That mural the Butterfly Effect sounds really pretty. I would love to see that if I ever could get that way. Maybe you could post pictures of it also on this site or another one so everyone could see how you all are doing. I know I would love to see it. I know that you will love it here on Mary Janes Farm because the people are all awesome.
Take care and I am so glad you joined.
hugs
