Hello! My name is Jaynelle, most people call me "Jay" or "JayBaby". My husband and I live in a 103 year old house on 7 acres in NW Missouri with our 2 Black Labs; Bonnie & Clyde, our 4 chickens; Johnny Cash turned out to be a bantum hen :) she was all black when we bought her and now she is a beautiful smokey gray color. She layed her second egg yesterday! Then we have 3 Rhode Island Red's; Adeline, Lyla Kay and Georgia. We call Georgia, Georgie because he is a rooster. My mom's name is Adeline and my Aunts names are Georgia and Lyla Kay. My family thinks it is funny This year has been alot of "First" for me! First time having a garden! First time having chickens! First time buying a sewing machine! First time canning! I really enjoy this website. It makes me feel empowered to do things I have never done before. I hope to learn alot here and get encouragement from my new farmgirl sisters!

Hi Jay,
Welcome "neighbor". We live in NW Missouri also, but not quite as far north and west as you all. I find that I consult the Farmgirls quite often when I come across questions about Farmgirl things and have received such wonderful advice and support. I'm sure you will too!!

Welcome Jaynelle, what a pretty name! I also live in an old farmhouse(114) in central Illinois. I have 1 rooster and 2 hens, all New Hampshires and were purchased this past spring. I just get a kick out of hearing my rooster crow! LOL. We also have 2 Border Collies: Frinzt and LaLune. They are brother/sister. Hope you enjoy your time with us

Welcome Jay! I love your chicken's names. I have 4-Easter Egger Pullets (not laying just yet) and love them dearly! They (Bitty, Birdie, Hattie, and Fannie) wonder through my yard all day, and are such great company. So glad you joined!
