Hello! My name is Kristina and I am a newbie/wanna-be "farm girl".

We just put in an offer today on a farmhouse on 8 acres in Massachusetts. We'd be relocating from the 'burbs of CT.

I am SO excited by the possibility of owning my own piece of what I believe to be paradise. No sandy white beaches for me, give me mountains, give me grass, give me a barn and you give me heaven!

I have 5 children, ages 10 yrs down to almost 1 year (on October 11th ) I cloth diaper the babe and am looking for an all around simplier life. Thankfully my DH is on the same page and is willing to add 20 mins to his already 1 hour commute in order to make that happen.

I run a cloth diaper/organic baby website right now from home and plan to do as much "homesteading" as I can when we move.

The house needs quite a bit of work (as do all farmhouses right??) but my DH is a builder and I make a decent helper.

I look forward to getting to know and love you all!!

Hi Kristina! Good luck to you with your old farmhouse. I'm a little past halfway on my 'old farmhouse journey'! My husband, his best friend and our son have done nearly all the work ourselves. It's been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I didn't think this 'old dog' could learn so many new tricks! :) Enjoy your journey. Keep a journal and take lots of before and after photos. I treasure mine.

Welcome Kristina, post some pictures of your new home when you can we would love to see them. Thank god I don't need diapers anymore, but I wish you continued success in selling them. Cloth was all I ever used when my kids were little.

Hi Kristina! Best of luck to you with your old farmhouse. I'm somewhere in the middle of my 'old farmhouse journey' right now. It's been hard work, but one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I didn't think this old dog could learn as many new tricks as I have! Keep a journal - take lots of before and after pics.

Hi Kristina,
Welcome to the group and good luck with your move!! Sounds fantastic. I agree with you, I can easily give the beach a miss, but I LOVE mountains and trees! Makes me a bit strange, of course, living in Oz, the land of beach worship. But hey, I love what I love!!
Looking forward to hearing how you are going,
Best wishes,
Jayne

Welcome Kristina! Where in Mass? I grew up on the South Shore on a small farm. I believe that is why I want to get my own farm someday!!
I'm so glad that you are closer to your dream! And an agreeable husband makes it all the better!
