Hello! I arrived here the other day via Google... looks like a nice place and, being that I am a dyed-in-the-wool farmgirl, I decided to join in the fun! (I registered about a week ago but am just now finding time to introduce myself.)

Our farm consists of four Alpine dairy goats, 8 Rhode Island Reds, 21 chicks (assorted egg-layers), two beef steer, and a spoiled cat who does a super job with rodent control. Plans are such that 60 broiler chicks will arrive sometime in August. Add in a large garden and there's always something to do around here!

I'm looking forward to chatting with you gals! :)

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?

Hmm I don't know who that would be. There are quite a number of Amish farms around here, the only one I know of that advertises selling quilts is Quarry Hill, but I've only been there once and there was only a young girl working when I went. :)

Oh, there's Esh's and Rachel's too... anyhow.

Hi Lindsey -

I don't remember the name of it, but I remember the Amish lady had a handicapped girl in a wheelchair in the store with her.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Marylyn, I'd love to visit the Ozarks someday! It's a special dream of mine to visit the Baker Creek Heirloom seed company. :-)

Luanne, was it Quarry Hill Quilts, perhaps?

Hi Lindsey -

Welcome from another PA girl. I'm in the northeast part of the state in the Pocono Mountains, but was in Shippensburg a few years ago for a concert at the university. It is a beautiful area. I went to an Amish farm near there and bought a quilted pillow, but I can't remember the name of the shop. It was at a farm, I remember.

I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do!
