Greetings!

I am new to the forums, but not new to Mary Jane's Farm. I love the magazines and books.

I have passed on copies and bought subscriptions for my son's girlfriend and some of his female friends. They are all in the age group of early 20s. Mary Jane's Farm is such an inspiring magazine for any woman, but certainly for those indie type 20 somethings. Very empowering.

As for me, I am an artist and domestic goddess that is currently renovating a 170 Federal style farmhouse in Western NY. I work a garden and can.

I hope to meet some nice people here:)

Thanks for the recent welcomes!

So warm - just lovely :)

We are living in the house. Actually we have been renovating for almost 5 years - well we have been here for 5 years. The first two years were great, then the housing market economic fail/fall, well needless to say, projects went on hold and some projects took over a year to finish because of funds, or lack thereof.

I do have pics, though, so I will gather some and show at least some progress. We are painting the outside this summer. OMG, by ourselves, my son and I. Did I mention it is 3 stories with a small windowed cupola, well 4 if one includes the basement? Ahhhhh, good times, good times.

Thanks for the nice welcome everyone :)

@roughstart~

Canandaigua is the second of the Finger Lakes of NY, starting in the west and going east. We are an hour from Syracuse to the west and an hour from Buffalo to the west and 1/2 hour southeast of Rochester.

Hi Merry,
Glad you decided to join in on the conversation. I forget where Canandaigua is. We used to live in Liverpool, outside of Syracuse and Warwick and also Mamaroneck, NY. I really loved all those areas.

Hi Merry,
A big farm girl welcome from Wisconsin! Love the idea of renovating a federal farmhouse-please keep us posted on your progress...I've passed MJF to my dd (abt. 20) and she's thinking of joining the sisterhood-just goes to show you how wide an appeal Mary Jane's Farm has! Hope you will enjoy "chatting" with us here on the forums...
