When I found your website, I read with interest the articles about the clothesline. It brought back memories of growing up on the farm. Last year I build my own and a set for my grown daughter. The only problem I'm having is finding heavy duty clothespins. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum Rebecca!

The ones from Lee Valley are just like the ones we used to have when I was a kid. My mom always hung our clothes on the line.
They are definitely stronger than the cheap ones you find nowadays. You might check out your local hardware store too. I find lots of goodies there that I cannot find elsewhere.
Happy Pinning!

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!

I found the heavier clothes pins at my local Walmart. They were back with the camper supplies.

I finally found good wooden clothes pins! Not expensive either. From Lee Valley. They're longer and stronger than the junk from China. Check it out. I love mine! Good luck! Here's the link.

Rebecca, welcome to MaryJanes! You might try looking at Lehmans website. They carry lots of nonelectric, homesteading type items. It's Lehmans.com. Hope you find what you need.

Welcome, I think someone will soon have an answer for you although it isn't me. I have the same problem with clothespins.

Welcome Rebecca. My husband is often asking the same question. He uses clothespins in his workshop. They just don't make them like before.

Hi Rebecca,
Welcome from Missouri! I just use the clothespins I found at our local Target store...but if I have something that needs extra strength, I just double up on the clothespins and place them side by side. That might help you for now at least until you can find some super-duty pins!!

Hmmm, not sure about the clothespins but I just wanted to say "Welcome!" I'm gonna guess maybe one of the other farm girls will have an answer for you...
