I signed up in hopes of sharing some of my farming, gardening, and outdoor experiences with those of you who might just be getting started, and to learn from those of you who have more knowledge and experience than I do.

In my "younger days", my adventures took me to eastern WA where I lived for 10 years...enjoying the pristine beauty and native inhabitants of the inland Northwest. I still miss it!

I currently live in a suburban neighborhood north of Austin, but my backyard has become a sanctuary for wildlife and for me. It probably wouldn't meet the neighborhood association's "restrictive covenants" criteria! And I have a small cattle ranch in northeast Texas where I was raised.

My passion is "simplified sustainable living", and these forums seem like a great place to share ideas and to learn. So I look forward to perusing through the topics and communicating with you.

Hi Connie, not sure I can make it to Big D for the State Fair this year. But I'll definitely keep it in mind, 'cause it would be so much fun to meet those of you who are going! If things look like they'll work out, I'll let you know. Thanks for the invite!

Howdy

My name is Connie, and I reside in Parker County near Springtown which is about 50 miles NW of Fort Worth. Have a little place of about 6.5 acres--mowing hay is our ag interest at this point. I work in Fort Worth as a librarian to support my endeavor.

The Texas Farm Girls are meeting in Dallas at the State Fair of Texas on Sat, Oct 21 if you would like to join us.
